LOL...those items are the FIRST things I tought about.

Hubby thought it was wild, a few weeks ago, when I bought out the entire supply of my fave dental floss.

Why is China spraying disinfectant everywhere? My answer is that the virus is on every surface inside and out, including the sidewalks and streets.

When I have to go out to the store I have wipes in my pocket and use them to touch the few things that I need. I don’t touch anything else. I use a wipe on the credit card keypad, and alway use the credit option, since it is less keys to press.

I also wear slip on/slip off shoes and take them off outside when I get home. I have a paint roller tray and a bottle of spray disinfectant out there. I spray the bottoms of my shoes and leave them out there in the tray until next time. And then I spray the entry way into the house for good measure.

I wipe my purchases down or wash them in the sink (fruit and vegetables). I also wipe my keys and my phone, which I try never to take out of my pocket in public. And then of course scrub my hands and face.

I’m now trying to work out a system where I only use one set of clothes to go out and then take them off afterwards and throw them directly into the washer.

I might start wearing nitrile gloves too.

One lady on here was dehydrating broccoli. I hadn’t thought of doing that and our garden this spring just about drowned so, no broccoli.

So I bought 10 $1 bags of pre chopped broccoli and dehydrated them for soups.

What a great idea!

Can’t remember who was doing that but thank you for the suggestion if you read this.

10:33 p.m. 2 die of coronavirus in Florida
Two residents have died of coronavirus in Florida, the state’s department of health said late Friday, marking 17 in the country.

The Florida Department of Health announced three new cases, two in Broward County and one in Lee County. Officials said the person in Lee County died.

A second person died from a previously announced case in Santa Rosa County.

The two deaths in Florida are the first on the U.S.’s East Coast. The other 15 deaths were in Washington (14) and California (one).

The two people in Broward County, in South Florida, are both “isolated,” officials said. Their conditions were not released.

One pt. is the gentleman in Santa Rosa County who was diagnosed 1-2 days ago. The other is in Lee Co., previously unreported, presumptive COVID-19 positive. Both had history of international travel.

They may be recovering from the virus but their lungs are irrepairably damaged.

....

Everyone who had Coronavirus developed irrepairably damaged lungs? Funny I haven’t heard this! Provide your source!

It’s this type of unsourced, conjecture that is fueling this hysteria! I’ll guarentee this is absolutely not the case!

You people sound like unhinged libs trying to make the case for Globull Warming! When people express doubts about the severity of COVID-19, you guys always try and outdo yourselves with even more hysterical pronouncements made with no proof!

Pretty sure it was me....I’ve dehydrated about 15 lbs, so far.

Stinks up the house, but worth it, to save/have the broccoli :)

I just dehydrated 10 lbs of peas. Eat your peas!!

I have my dehydrator on my front porch when it’s decent weather.

Thinking about ordering another smaller one this weekend so I can dehydrate ‘objectionable’ stuff at the same time I’m dehydrating fruit/berries without the berries being all oniony.

I wondered about the Lee County one- hadn’t heard about that.

We’re going to be challenged not only by the virus - but mostly by ourselves.

Hopefully everybody on this thread is ready for the zombie apocalypse by now. ;-)

I just saw in our local paper that we have our first case here in Omaha. This is not one of the people who came here from the cruise ship or from Wuhan. It is some woman who was traveling in the UK. She was in another local hospital but has been transferred to the bio-containment unit at the University of Nebraska Med Center where the big infectious disease center is.
