Oooh, those contacts would be out before slicing jalapenos.
Most of Chris Martenson’s points have already been discussed here, but he had one insight (hinted at around here) that he has spelled out and it is a very very important insight.
When will the heavy duty quarantines hit?
According to Chris, they will hit when metro DC and military hospitals that take care of the leadership of our three branches of government are overwhelmed with patients.
Not one day before.
Not one day after.
_That_ is information you can use.
When you see the news about DC area (including military) hospitals started to get stressed, you need to be where you want to stay for the duration of what could be a long quarantine.
It is just that simple.

#BREAKING Health officials confirm first case of Coronavirus in Fresno County
Trump is being naive. He needs to stop with comments like this.
Assisted living residents tend to be healthier than those at Skilled Nursing Facilities, but still mostly in their 80's and 90's, and not as healthy as those living in the general population. Very bad if it spreads there.
According to Chris, whenever we ask a question like “Why didn’t .gov do x, why don’t they do y”, there is a very simple answer.
It is a bit of a stunner, but I think it is right. They are slow walking this response for one simple reason:
They don’t care.
That is it.
You can’t make somebody care.
Pence will be “the fall goy” for the high case/fatality numbers in March. But not a big deal IMO. He should retire after 2024 anyway.
There has to be a balance between risk and profit. We can’t afford no profit, or too much risk.
So far the balance seems OK, though that could change.
Is anyone else holding their breath when they pass someone?
for those that are suddenly having to deal with this...I will repost Chinese Dr who talks about how Vitamin C helped saved someone

“Seems that air is intended for other purposes and would be very expensive to divert. But I appreciate that youve thought the idea through.”
Thanks. However, I don’t think it’s very expensive, but there is a marginal cost. The thing is, a year from now, the airlines, all of them, will be lucky to be flying half of their planes. So trying to squeeze the last few percent out of them for operational cost will be a very minor factor relative to getting people to again accept being cooped up with hundreds of strangers for hours at a time.
It is going to be a HUGE EFFORT to get people to travel by air again...people weren’t so hot on it even before Coronavirus. In fact, it’s not a bad marketing tool to promise fresh air, if the airlines think about it (and it’s not just regarding viruses, it’s overall air quality).
(and remember, fuel costs are only about 20%, so even a 10% fuel hit is only about a 2% hit to overall operational cost)
Watch the Italians s flood the US now fir health care.
There systems are collapsing in the north.
We sit like fools letting them infect us .
The WH will not survive this incompetence and leaving our borders open
for purely economic reasons over its citizens heath .
seems to me that a good time to test the staff at nursing homes was last week.
\
and if us old folk are supposed to self-quarantine, why aren’t nursing homes also quarantined from visitors?
“Trump is being naive. He needs to stop with comments like this.”
I’m starting to think he’s tired of being in the White House. He can’t be THAT STUPID, considering all the brilliant things he’s done so far.
Your call, my FRiend—but this guy has forgotten more about the CV than the vast majority of folks will ever know.
He has put his heart and soul into researching this for the past few months.
He has tons of data and excellent analysis, the best I have seen out there, and we have had a lot of excellent links posted here.
Good statement IMO.
Though, honestly, I’d like to see few large gatherings in Mar/April.
A little bombastic...
Trump seriously needs to go back to not shaking hands. He’d set an example for the rest of the world.
“Is anyone else holding their breath when they pass someone?”
Many times in the past few weeks. Common sense now.
