CPAC chairman Matt Schlapp tells me he interacted with attendee who has tested positive for coronavirus. While the timeline is unknown, Schlapp shook Trump’s hand on stage the last day of the conference.

Testing Limitations May Conceal Coronavirus Spread In Oregon

Right now, the Oregon Health Authority is limiting testing to patients who have severe pneumonia requiring hospitalization and to people who have had contact with confirmed coronavirus cases. They just don’t have enough tests to check everyone. That means, until more testing happens, there’s no real way of knowing how far the disease has spread in Oregon.

Comment: the FDA has relaxed regulations making it possible for health agencies and private entities to use their own tests. They just get confirmed through the CDC, so I don’t know why states aren’t taking advantage of that.

and there aren’t even enough masks for hospital workers, much less the general population.

Imho that has had a critical impact on getting the CDC started down the lying lying lying rabbit hole....

What should have happened is something like this (from Pence?):

“Here is the truth about masks. They work. They are easy to use and people should use them in public settings. The problem is we don’t even have enough for our health care workers.

Here is what we are doing to try to get more masks available, first to our health care workers, and then to the general public.....

In the meantime I ask all Americans to show some patience—we are working the issue and I will continue to update you...”

With regard to mass transit - I heard that NYC was increasing their efforts at cleaning. Now they will be cleaning things every three days!

(Okay - I’ll walk!)

There were more employees then residents at that home in Kirkland. Very high maintenance.

That would be the best way to handle it. I think part of people’s fear is they are being asked to believe the people in charge or their own lying eyes.

“Hence the previous suggestions (by you perhaps?) of getting to the store early in the a.m.”

Yea, we’ve been doing that for weeks now...even today for me. And then we’ll be doing it again most of next week!

If stores are open long hours, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THEM. If not, try to avoid. We have a Sam’s Plus membership (business type) which means we can go early M-Sat, before the masses. We also have a Costco membership...but nope, no early hours. Guess which store I have not stepped foot into the past 3 weeks?

My wife like her Asian stores, but they don’t open until 8 AM or 9 AM (depending on the store and the day). We bought about $900 worth of mostly non-perishables a few weeks ago (and were the first one into both stores, one opening at 8, the other at 9). Had a free run of the first store, but it was starting to get busy at the second store. But we’re done...I offered last week, but now, no more.

Jif, which is like candy eaten right out of the jar. Campbell’s cream of chicken same thing, although you have to be really hungry to do that one.

I have lots of sardines and mackerel in extra virgin olive oil, canned chicken spread, Hormel beanless chili. Have to start my other favorites: artichoke hearts for one.

I don’t have much of an appetite anymore, which is a big help!

A bunch of state and local health officials have been lying through their teeth about masks—those are the talking points they have been given—undermines them as well.

I am very surprised at this point that anyone is still looking forward to getting on one of these ships. Many of them presumably are already not young, and for them the risk is the greatest.

Some of the hilarious mask episodes include public officials putting the mask upside down to show how hard it was to use...then there have been a bunch claiming you will infect yourself with masks...then others saying you won’t be able to breathe well through them...a laundry list of hilarious lies, false assumptions, etc.

Mask training is a one minute and a half video given to nurses.

Even a monkey can effectively use a mask.

What a joke!

I watched a video the other day. Headrests were the number one contaminated item on the aircraft. #2 was the pocket that contains the safety card everyone is supposed to take out and read; #3 was the bathroom door handle, (both 3/4 had E.coli) #4 was the tray, and #5 was the seat belt.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZUVbQrVZIU

Not a scientific analysis, but it’s probably kids with the E.coli - they can’t undo the seatbelts but they do love to go to the bathroom by themselves. I wonder if it’s the same with stool-shed virus?

If anyone’s going on a cruise or flight, Take wipes. Lots and Lots of wipes. :)
