While the one dog in Hong Kong has shown a “low-level infection” with COVID-19 that is “likely to be a case of human-to-animal transmission,” local government health officials emphasize that “there is currently no evidence that pet animals can be a source of infection of COVID-19 or that they become sick.”
Dr. Jerry Klein, Chief Veterinary Officer for the AKC, says, “The CDC has not reported any cases of pets or other animals becoming infected with COVID-19 in the United States or anywhere else in the world, including hotbeds like Italy.” Dr. Klein urges common sense best practices when it comes to our pets: “If you have children, you wouldn’t have them touch a puppy and put their fingers in their mouth, because they can have fecal contamination,” he says. “The general practice of washing our hands after touching a puppy or a dog—that’s normal hygiene.”

Chinese authorities announced Tuesday that journalists from three major U.S. news organizations, including The Washington Post, will be effectively expelled from the country as part of retaliation to Trump administration limits on U.S.-based Chinese media outlets.
The measures announced by China’s Foreign Ministry hit The Post, the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times. The three organizations will also join Voice of America and Time magazine in being labeled by China as “foreign missions” and must report information about their staff, finance, operation and real estate in China.

Here’s what I don’t understand.....if young people aren’t terribly affected, and kids seem to be pretty safe, why isn’t it just elderly and compromised people who need to be quarantined? If this is basically a flu for the general population, just keep us older people safe, and that eliminates the need to shut down the whole flippin’ economy! Heck, many of us are semi self-quarantined anyway lol!

My county can’t provide latest number on the website. I just now received two calls from the county for Shelter in place. The first time I just hang up after few seconds, they called again because they want us to press one at the end for confirmation of the message.
Now I am thinking to go out and do some bank work and fill the gas tank.
That is a good question I have no answer for since they are still working this out.
I have children who are in the food entertainment business and they sure could use this ASAP.
But I have kids who have jobs that are not going away, will they get the $$$$$ to?
Guess in time we will know.
Or was it because they wanted to be going back and forth?
China ejecting our LSM is more them wanting to not have what is going in reality over there the way I see it.
It does seem like we have thrown logic out the window.
Problem with the youth, they can’t be relied upon to stay away from their grandparents and the elderly.
What I’m saying is many just don’t think.
In trying to explain to my 30 year old son, who was not worried about getting the virus, to wash his hands, I bluntly had to tell him he could end up bringing it home to his parents and we could die.
He got my point!!
