By the way, what’s the obsession with toilet paper I am reading about? Our friend had a cute post about toilet paper rolls being wrapped in Christmas paper. Shouldn’t we be stockpiling Kleenex for the flu?

I imagine that is because they are having a hard time restocking due to the run on it in other parts of the country.

This Wuhan virus hysteria is out of control. I have never seen anything like it. Remember back when AIDS first came out & nobody knew anything about it or transmission of it? Nothing was cancelled. No mass hysteria, just normal caution. The NBA didn’t close down. The NBA didn’t close down when Magic Johnson announced he had AIDS, and at that time, people still thought you could get it by contact. In fact Karl Malone said he wouldn’t play if Magic was playing & Malone was widely chastised.
Last night, I asked my High School kids if their games today would be rained out today, because it rained yesterday. They said their season was being postponed or maybe cancelled because of Wuhan virus & they were having a meeting today. I then asked my College player the same thing & they too are having a meeting about possibly cancelling the season. This is ridiculous!!! They are young, healthy kids. Nobody except the parents even attend the games. The games are out in the open air. WTH is going on?!?!?!
On a brighter note, I was a block away from work today in Burbank, when a guy pulled next to me up at the stoplight & started honking his horn. He stuck his “thumbs up” out the window & I rolled my window down. He saw my Trump bumper magnet & said his parents were Cuban & his family loved Trump & hated Bernie. His parents “know what Bernie is all about” & we have to have 4 more years! He then drove on as the light turned & gave me a “thumbs up” all the way down the street.
There was no public internet & social media when AIDS was spreading. That’s probably the difference.

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows that 49% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.

Wuhan Virus is more contagious and hits the respiratory system much harder and faster.
Sports arena etc are closing because of liability insurance. Insurance companies are not ready to protect them without a bailout.
The administration is trying to slow down spread process just to avoid overwhelming hospital resources.
Good hygiene practice is key to avoid the virus.
