Happy Valentines Day.
There are currently 67,100 confirmed cases worldwide, including 1,526 fatalities.
No, just call it the WooWoo.
Note: The CDC is doing follow up testing.
“Boise man who died after China trip tests negative for coronavirus”
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A 71-year-old man who was found dead in his home after returning from a trip to China does not appear to have been infected with the new coronavirus, the Ada County Coroner said, but more testing is being done out of an abundance of caution.
Coroner Dotti Owens said Wednesday afternoon that the body of Frederick Gilbert was found in his Boise home on Sunday. Gilbert had been dead for some time, and authorities learned he had returned to Boise on Feb. 5 after traveling to India and China. His trip included stops in Shanghai-Pudong and Shenzen, China, according to the coroner's office.
Because of the circumstances, health authorities tested Gilbert's remains for coronavirus and influenza. Initial tests for both viruses came back negative, Owens said.
“However due to the condition of the decedent and in an abundance of caution, additional tests are being requested through the CDC,” Owens wrote in a prepared statement. Those additional tests will take up to 10 days, and Owens said the results will be released when they are available.”
Spreading in Sinapore right now.
Good thing we have a copper sink!
“sold out” Good grief!
Hmmm.
Seems it would be profitable to develop coronavirus vaccines for animals and have them ‘on the shelf’ for the expensive trials needed for human use. Corona virus being zoonotic.
And an emergency could make the testing less expensive.
Thanks...I was wondering how long the (additional) testing on Mr Gilbert would take.
So, we should know w/in 10 days, or by 2.23.
It is estimated that more than 30,000 pets have been left stranded after the Chinese government sealed off Wuhan following the coronavirus outbreak.
In response, people trapped in Wuhan have been volunteering and checking in on the animals whose owners are stuck outside the city. Here’s Ye Jialin’s story of helping those who are currently not allowed to return home

Thanks, much.
I wonder what the new US travel restrictions, being considered, are.
Any idea?
I don’t think I ever seen a copper sink before that I can recall. Bet someone would like to steal that!

China Evacuees at San Diego Base Petitioned to Be Tested for Coronavirus But CDC Declined, Fearing False Negative
Ordered into quarantine, a group evacuated to California from Wuhan, China, is at odds with the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and has petitioned for five “critical” changes in their conditions.
The CDC has already said no to the first request — the evacuees wanted to be tested for the novel coronavirus....The CDC says Braden has explained the issue of false negatives to the evacuees....
The evacuees then listed their requests. They started with the request to be tested and then added four more: Prevention of gatherings of large numbers of people in small, enclosed environments; delivery of personal protective gear to evacuees, including masks and sanitizing alcohol for room disinfection; provision of hand sanitizer at the front desk and playground; and disinfection two to three times a day of public areas, “including playground, laundry room, door knobs, etc.”

The two patients whove contracted the virus are in fair and good condition, respectively, and the third, which the hospital calls a patient under investigation (or PUI), is doing excellent, said Dr. Randy Taplitz, UC San Diego Health clinical director of infectious diseases...
At Rady Children’s Hospital, two children who were under quarantine at MCAS Miramar have been admitted for observation because they were showing symptoms of the disease, hospital spokesman Carlos Delgado told KPBS. This includes 3-year-old Annabel Wucisnki, who was released last Friday after testing negative for the virus. She’s since developed additional symptoms and was readmitted.
Her father, Frank, is accompanying her at the hospital. He is not showing any symptoms.
