Almost verbatim what I said to my husband last night. I’m retired from nursing, graduated from a class of only 25 that made it through the #1 rated school for 10 years running, had several WWII era instructors and 2 that were babies / children during the Spanish flu and lost family members. I got a goooood education.

That is exactly what would happen in a place like NYC. It will overwhelm, and then the people will run out of the way.

The US has plans, but I cannot imagine those plans are going to survive the first contact in force.

She's lying. The ease of transmission is one of the remarkable characteristics of this disease. That's why they are saying quarantines are unlikely to be effective, as quarantines of 99% effectiveness will only slow the spread by 1/3.
