How to protect yourself (from coronavirus):

"There are currently no vaccines available to protect you against human coronavirus infection.
You may be able to reduce your risk of infection by doing the following:

(#1) .. wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
(#2) ..avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands
(#3) .. avoid close contact with people who are sick "

Also:
(#4)..stay home while you are sick - don't spread the illness
(#5) ..avoid close contact with others
(#6).. cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
(#7).. clean and disinfect objects and surfaces, especially plateware, silverware, TV remotes, cellphones commonly use by many people.

Not mentioned yet at CDC website is use of an 'N-95' face mask (or higher filtration)
Stock up on over-the-counter medications, and/or holistic medications

Home Medications should include : Kleenex, decongestants, fever reducers, anti-diarrhea medications, sore throat pain reducers, throat lozenges, cough drops, bleach or other disinfectants, extra toilet tissue, extra hand soap, wash bed clothes in sanitizer, extra laundry detergent, etc.

There are no specific treatments for illnesses caused by human coronaviruses.
Most people with common human coronavirus illness will recover on their own.
However, you can do some things to relieve your symptoms:

(A) take pain and fever medications (Caution: do not give Aspirin to children)
(B) use a room humidifier or take a hot shower to help ease a sore throat and cough

If you are mildly sick, you should:
(1)..drink plenty of liquids
(2)..stay home and rest
If you are concerned about your symptoms, you should see your healthcare provider."

Bring Out Your Dead

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

I have found the best way to avoid the pneumonia aspect is to take half a Benadryl as soon as I feel sniffling.

The antihistamine decreases the flow into my lungs and the recovery period is very short.

I’ve had so many vaccinations recently I feel like a pin cushion. Hoping to avoid this go round.

N95 masks are expensive and require fitting and instruction in appropriate use as well as a fit test. Men with facial hair cannot use the N 95 they will not get an appropriate seal. Save your money unless you know how to use them and have been appropriately fitted

Just had shots for typhoid, Hep A & B, tetnus, MMR, influenza, Japanese Encephalitis,.......

Already had meningitis, mumps, measles, and vaccine for polio

Just about everything except rabies and yellow fever!

Still won’t protect me from a new Corona virus.
