Thanks to Sheldon Cooper, I knew that there are no beans in chili! Lol - so many cute little facts gleaned from that show.

My take on the nickname. Our President is my generation. He likes basically the movies and music I love and millions of others my generation. He's also a BIG MOVIE FAN. We were too several years ago.
**********************************************
Austin Powers
Before Dr. Evil was sent back in time to 1969, his minions made him a clone. The clone was identical in every way, but he was one-eighth his size. Upon being introduced to his clone, Dr. Evil immediately declared, "Breathtaking. I shall call him... Mini-Me."
Mini-Me has almost no spoken dialogue in the films beyond an occasional frightened "Eeeee!". Otherwise, he is silent except for when he does his evil laugh with Dr. Evil. He also likes to lip sync the occasional line when Dr. Evil raps. At the beginning of Goldmember, Dr. Evil asks him to "Use your words like a big boy clone!". At one point, he asks Dr. Evil to hug him after meeting Fat Bastard, who wants to eat him. Mini-Me often uses the middle finger as a means of insulting someone (even though he only uses it once during the third movie). On most other occasions, Mini-Me prefers to express himself through written notes.
Mini-Me is a character trait not bashing his size.

Beans are very good nutrition. Its the spaghetti or macaroni I don't want in. Its debated here too. Beans.spaghetti.hot or mild.

I dont like anyone being mean to anyone, truth be told. This is a rather unkind tactic, but you have to admit that its effective. I disagree that mocking about physical characteristics is effective. We who support PDJT either like it (not me) or choose to overlook it (me) because we like so much else about him and his policies. My concern are the people who usually vote Dem or who pay almost no attention until about October of election year. We need their votes for Trump and for Congress. Why alienate entire groups who may feel that PDJT mocks them for their short stature, their false teeth, their low IQ, etc.

Well, I can understand your point of view. My son-in-law is about the same size as Bloomberg (without the money lol), and he has no problem with it. He’s pretty sure that he may be smaller in stature, but he’s a bigger man than most.
Honestly Freee-dame, I wish politics wasn’t so dirty, but it is. And nobody is dirtier than dems. You have to fight fire with fire.

I’ve been a fan of Jay’s forever, and did not know he was also a talented musician. They are great!

I was a Raiders fan since I was a kid, as was my father. One time we went to the Yin Yin in Livermore for dinner, and the whole team was there, what a glorious day. Being a Raiders fan in Texas is lonely during football season. I have loosened up to the Saints though. If I make it to Carson City, me and the Raiders will once again hail from the same state!

in Texas there are no beans in chile. But I secretly make Chile beans at home, with kidney beans. Dont tell anyone from Texas.
Actually during the depression era the Midwest States and many Southern States started to add beans as a way to stretch a meal with the same flavor of no bean chili. Still high protein and less expensive meat or no meat fit the bill. Oklahoma and Kansas actually added not just beans, but spaghetti to stretch it even further during the Dustbowl. Most people had plenty of stored wheat and beans at the time. It was also made this way in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and many other states during this time to help extend a meal to serve more. To this day the chili in Kansas City with spaghetti remains a State specialty.

Must say bye until later. My dad was a very funny man. I think its why I miss him so much. My husbands family are a lot like my dad. There will be laughter ALL during the party. Its why people hang out at their garage and bring their vehicles in. They are the funniest family I know. I wish you-all could be at their party today.

Not sure if this was directed at me, but I use salsa made from my own garden and canned by me with some help from my children every now and then.

Thanks for sharing. You are so correct...once my dad was on strike he didn't want, and for dinner we had beans and cornbread and sometimes fried potatoes too, for a couple of weeks. I thought nothing of it.

I never heard of spaghetti or macaroni in Chile. My mother used to make a casserole she called chile mac. Ground beef mixed with tomato sauce, chile powder and other spices, corn, macaroni and cheese.
