The speech or Debate clause, Article I section6 of the Constitution, protects members of Congress from civil or criminal prosecution for lying in Either house of Congress. Does it really mean that they can lie without any consequence?

Thanks for asking. I’m just got done talkin with my niece - who is 38 and is the spittin image- looks & personality - of my sister.

Her kids I’ve only seen a couple of times since they were born. Her oldest daughter(from a different marriage) died @ 36 in 2008.
My sister and her husband ended up raising her daughter’s 3 kids.

I am just getting over the disbelief. I never knew how bad she was. She wouldn’t let anybody in Illinois know.
Last time i saw her was in May 2016 and she was ok. She wasn’t on oxygen then. We took in a Cubs game. Cruised old neighborhoods in Chicago. She said it would be her last visit back here. Did she know something then? Who knows...

Now the dems are begging for a deposition of the witnesses they want. They say they will conduct the depositions and report back to the Senators so that the Senate can do other things.
