Alex Cora, who won the World Series in 2018 in his debut season as manager of the Boston Red Sox but has been linked this offseason to two sign-stealing schemes, has mutually agreed to part ways with the team. Cora, 44, led the Red Sox past the Los Angeles Dodgers in five games in 2018, a year removed from winning the World Series in Houston as Astros bench coach.
He is awaiting discipline from MLB for his role in a sign-stealing scheme by the Astros, and is still under investigation for a different sign-stealing scheme that is said to have occurred with the Red Sox in 2018.

Ouch.
Thanks.
He wouldn't meet President Trump after the Sox won the Series, because Cora is a bigot. A cheating bigot.
Talk about getting ahead of a story...LOL
An amazing rise and fall story...
Are there any Boston area teams that can win a championship without cheating?
From the MLB report this guy is the one who implemented the system in Houston, then took it to Boston. He was not only an active participant, unlike Hitch, but the instigator of the whole thing. Should get a lifetime ban. Being a sanctimonious lib doesnt play into it, he deserves the permanent ban.
Boston teams cheating? Say it ain’t so Joe.

They fired the GM who put their World Series team less than a year later. They fired their first-year one year after winning a World Series. Doesn’t get you much these days.
Interesting he was given the option to leave under mutual agreement. The Bosox just flat out fired their GM Dumbrowski.
I thought firing the Astros GM and Manager was too harsh. Cheating has been part of baseball forever. I can understand being penalized for it, a hefty fine maybe, but kicked out of the game...that seemed like overkill.
However, it will certainly send a strong message to other teams who have been cheating or thinking about it.
Did the Bruins cheat in 2011?
Sure! The 1969-1970 Bruins! They just beat the hell outta everyone than ran their butts over with Espo, Bobby Orr and pals! What a Team!
And what of Beltran?
So you are not allowed to try to figure out other teams’ hand signs? Why the hell not?
I mean football teams review films of other teams’ plays. Based on how the team lines up you can figure out what play they’re going to run.
He’s the manager of the Mets.
You can figure them out. You just can’t use technology to see them. If you have a runner on 2nd base, I guess you can go for it.
See ya.
Is it too early to say, Wait til next year? Because 2020 is shot.
Boston Sports fans are not going to be too excited over the next few years.
