The Senate refused to convict Swayne, however, because many senators did not believe his offenses amounted to “high crimes and misdemeanors.” During this long trial, it was suggested that a Senate committee, rather than the Senate as a whole, should hear impeachment evidence, and Senator George F. Hoar of Massachusetts proposed that the presiding officer appoint such a committee. While Hoar’s proposal would eventually be embodied in Rule XI of the Senate’s impeachment rules, in 1905 the resolution was referred to the Rules Committee, which took no action.

All this talk that the campaigning senators will have to attend an impeachment trial is not true, according to the Senate rules, posted by the Senate itself.

Democratic congresswoman seeking treatment for alcoholism after ‘serious’ fall

Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick is taking time away from Congress after she said she had a “serious” fall, related to alcohol dependence.

“I sincerely thank the many people who have reached out in support after my accident last week. The fall was serious, but with physical therapy I will fully recover,” the Arizona Democrat said in a Wednesday statement. “I do, however, have another challenge I must face, which was the underlying cause of the fall. Beginning next week, I will receive treatment that I have struggled to ask for, to treat my alcohol dependence.”

Well, even if they can be called as witnesses, it seems like it would be a difficult process & thus something that RINOS would not want to do for fear of being “unfair” and setting a “bad precedent” & all the other jibberish they spout.

Unless, Trump absolutely insists on it, I don’t see either of the Bidens being called either & you can throw the whistleblower in too.

Six of the seven impeachment managers selected by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi supported the impeachment of President Trump (@realDonaldTrump) before the whistleblower complaint was filed. More here:

Ha! No bias, or discrimination, there, at all.

NOT!!

This whole “manager” naming is a bad punchline to their terrible joke.

These bastards never stop.

Top of the hour radio news:

Dims - “Unless the Senate allows more witnesses, McConnell is covering up for Trump’s crimes.”

It’s not just that they are looking out for themselves, we can’t afford to lose even one pubbie Senator’s seat.

We have to keep the Senate!

The trail is another waste of time and money. We heard for months there wouldn't be a trail to show that the House had no legitimacy to their impeachment charge. SOOOO why now??? Republicans are as dishonest as the Dems.

Does my heart good to see them scramble to clean up their nasty tweets.

Maybe they will think twice before they put rubbish out, naw probably not.

With everything else that is going on I think it will take a few days for all of this to hit the fan.

Collins voted for Kavanaugh. I don’t know if she’s been up for reelection since then. I wish politicians would stick to their principles instead of worrying about reelection. I wish my jar of pennies were dollars too.

They have been working on all the judges that have been confirmed and from all the Senator’s at the signing with Trump, they were helping him with China.

But I have no clue what all of them do all day long.

Sure doesn’t seem to be the business of the people.

The House was free to all the witnesses, why didn’t they do it then?

Ann Kirkpatrick used to be my Rep.

After she lost to Gosar, I think, she upped and moved and then ran again and won.

She even ran for Senate against John McCain

She was born and raised here on the mountain.

I don’t have nice things to say about her so I won’t say anything personally.

She was a do nothing congress critter for us in Dist. 1.
