I have a 14 year old Maytag washer and dryer. NOT a front load washer. My daughter has one of those front loads and it’s horrible. I can hardly tell if the cloths are clean or dirty sometimes. Very little water and the machine has an odd smell. She hates the thing. They’ve gone back to top load washers up here.

My old washer was 23 years old a Kenmore this new washer is also a Kenmore and a HUGE POS!!!!
Repair them until the new ones come out. This was told to me by our service tech.

Last winter, I watched a redtail hawk swoop down in my backyard and kill a grey dove. It wasn’t pretty. The hawk spent about ten minutes defeathering, dissecting, and mutilating the dove before flying off with it’s head and body. left the wings and feet here.
‘Nuff said about hawks and doves.

It really cost me nothing because I took away a kiddies program I never watch to replace it. ha!
Is it a front load? Or top load washer? Good thing you’re retired - you’ll need the extra time to wash everything twice lol. ;)
Now after the wash cycle and I put my clothes in the bathtub and rinse again and then back to the dryer. I started having skin rashes because of soap residue.
Keep using less and less detergent until you find the amount that will still made a bit of suds and clean your clothes. I read that some people only use a tablespoon.

Have only been able to use PUREX for years. Get the non scented kind if you can.
