Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, are stepping back from their roles as senior members of the British royal family and plan to work towards becoming "financially independent," the couple announced on Instagram on Wednesday.
"After many months of reflection and internal discussions, we have chosen to make a transition this year" they wrote, explaining that they hope to "carve out a progressive new role within this institution." "We intend to step back as 'senior' members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen," they said.

Well, he DID spend time in the military, so you’d think he could separate the good from the bad. Ray Charles could’ve seen how bad this golddigger was from a mile away.
The monarchy has certainly seen decades of cracking....it just goes with the territory. However society around them has certainly changed and yet they continue to hang on ‘selling’ their importance.... Have a wedding or a baby and the British will show up in the hundreds. Have a scandle and every newspaper will sell.

I don't agree with this couple on politics. I neither like nor dislike them. But, all the gossip, the rumors, and the nastiness is ridiculous.

I truly believe Harry and Meghan are opportunists of the first order......absolute grifters!
I still have a level of respect for the British Royal Family, specifically the Queen.
At the rate England is destroying itself, she is a reminder of ‘order and honor’of days long ago.
What Meghan and Harry are doing by thumbing their noses at her is despicable, dirty!

What’s any of that got to do with the internal meltdown of the monarchy? It’s in its decadency if one opened one’s eyes. One could almost make it a metaphor for the entire West.
She ain’t wasting any time, that’s for sure...

I just dont’t think the monarchy will fall...in fact the royals are likely more united and stronger as well as the Brits who support them, because of how Harry and megan handled this departure, and their behavior with the press.
Basically Harry and megan want to use the royal positions they hold to advance themselves, keep their fingers in the cookie jar, yet leave all the work to William and Kate to do.
So the family is and will come together tighter Imo.
Harry is #7 in line to the throne, so pretty irrelevant. His father, brother and nephew and nieces precede him.
This isn’t the end of the monarchy
I’m not sure - the scandals of Andrew and Harry pale in comparison to Prince Edward, son of Queen Vickie, not to mention the Hanoverians before Vickie
