Gen. Mark Milley, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told Pentagon reporters that a letter going around stating the US was leaving Iraq was a poorly written and incorrect draft that never should have gotten out. Nobody's leaving Iraq, he said.

The homeless situation in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and many other Democrat Party run cities throughout the Nation is a state and local problem, not a federal problem....
....If however, the city or state in question is willing to acknowledge responsibility, and politely asks for help from the Federal Government, we will very seriously consider getting involved in order to make those poorly run Democrat Cities Great Again!
That letter was a “draft”. The government at high levels has documents and plans ready for whatever decisions are made. Whoever released that “draft” needs to be FIRED immediately and prosecuted if it was a classified document. President Trump, please get a handle on the sabateurs in your administration.

And, I believe, is why China has supported Iran in Syria.
But Iran has not delivered.
Iran’s antipathy to Israel prevents them.
US/Israel won’t let it happen. And it’s easy and cheap to prevent.
So China won’t keep that support for Iran. Iraq may be a much surer producer of that road to the Med. Recently China met with Iraq PM. Maybe about something else, maybe about being China’s handmaid in the ME.
Seems to me the US and China have several common interests in the ME.
None of them include Iran.
Same re Russia.
Russia has no more need of Iran support in Syria. Iran is now just a competitor to them for the goodies.
