So, this has become an annual thread. Each year I hope to find that special someone and each year, around this time, I realize that I may have to wait another year.
But, I can't complain. Life is good. I made a sweet potato pie from scratch and will share it with the family tomorrow at our Christmas dinner. I'm 59 years-old and have been blessed to have spent every Christmas with my parents? How many people can say that?
But, tonight it's just me, George Bailey on Bluray, some beautiful sacred Christmas music on SiriusXM Holiday Pops and a nice bottle of red wine.
How about you? Anyone else solo this Christmas Eve?
Those Hippies can
Really Dance too!

Merry Christmas !
Raised the four alone, they are gone and tomorrow two of them and some of their bio relatives (they were all adopted at birth) and a stray or two are coming to dinner.
Listened to Steyn’s Christmas Program streaming this afternoon and made an apple-cranberry pie, cranberry relish, sherried mushrooms and did five loads of laundery.
Tomorrow’s menu: dips and veggies, then Rib Roast, my special lemon rosemary rice, broccli, sherried mushrooms tossed salad with balsamic vinagrette, Hot sourdough bread Chocolate cream pie, and or Apple-cranberry pie with ice cream.
I wish I could come and be there.
Sounds so great.
Thanks for sharing.
God Bless.
Are you in the Northwestern Territories?
It is so hard for be to believe how busy people seem to be in these days, my goodness they have EVERYTHING at their finger tips, shopping brought to the front door, banking no need to EVER go to the bank, putting toys or furniture together just press an app and someone is at your door my goodness we NEVER had these things and yet were never as stressed out and busy as people seem to be today!! I work in a major grocery chain and EVERYTHING is already done for meal planning, full service bakery, in produce vegetables all packaged in different varieties, fruits all cut and packaged in different varieties it is AMAZING how much is done for families today YET they are still stressed and overly busy I just dont get it!!! OMG these people would just FREAK OUT if they had to actually bake their own cookies and pies, plan the meals for each day of the week, do all the shopping in an actual mall and go from store to store looking for products needed and raise all of their kids too!!! God Bless and have a WONDERFUL day with your grandkids a little bit of your wife is in each and everyone of them, she made your entire family possible!! She will be with all of you tomorrow in spirit looking down and patting herself on the back at what a GREAT JOB she did!!!!
I’ll be thinkin about you!!
Spending time in Church tomorrow and maybe then reading the Federalist Papers.
I think Christ and Freedom go hand in hand.
Heck Brudda,
Seems I started
Life alone,
Whacked on the Butt
all covered in gunk
and Screaming.
It’s a little
Better now.
I’ve had two boxers over the years, each living to 11. Adored them beyond adore. Think the last one was poisoned. Good thing the son of a bitch who is the prime suspect is dead and I couldn’t prove it otherwise I would have..
May yours live forever.
Hahahahaha... no one can say you don't have a good sense of humor! Maybe a little warped; but good.
Throw a loop. ....Festivus. ...the feats of strength. ..lol.
If anyone has no family and friends and will be eating Christmas dinner alone let me know. I need to borrow your chairs.....

Did you leave the gun?
Holy cow... That movie is what turned me into a hippy when it came out... lol
I had to put my boxer down a few years ago.
He was 11 and it was brutal. I wept like a baby as I held him in my arms and the vet injected the drugs.
When it was over and I walked back into the waiting room every eye was on me. I really made a spectacle of myself.
Man, that hurt.
LOL. Sure, come and get them.
No kidding. I bawled like a baby for days after losing my 15 year old pug a few years ago. Whenever I think of it I have a waterworks to this day.
Merry Christmas! :-)
Thanks combat_boots, don’t know how there are people in this world that don’t love puppies. I was always attracted to dogs from being a little kid, and my parents were the type that said, when you get your own house you can get a dog. Well, I did, two wire fox terriers over 27 years, I absolutely adored both of them, and them me. Best thing I ever did. Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Thank you.
Merry Christmas!
