House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is leaving open the possibility of withholding articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump until she is assured a fair trial in the Senate.

“So far we haven’t seen anything that looks fair to us,” Pelosi said Wednesday after her caucus voted to impeach the president. She was referring to what Democratic leadership plans on doing after the vote.

That would be brilliant if we have the votes to acquit, and we surely do.

Even Pierre and Susan Collins have enough sense to get on board rather than face certain death.

They’re having trouble raising money and have horrible candidates, so they’re using the taxpayers and the free media coverage to run their 2020 campaign

^^^ This! The Dems are losing in everything. Before long even San Francisco will be voting Red!

Narratives like an IMPEACHED President can not be allowed to pick RBG’s replacement.

Good point! I hadn't thought of that. It's inevitable that Pres. Trump will have at least one more SCJ appointment. They have no other way to fight it, especially if Trump nominates Amy Barrett, or any female. It's going to be difficult for them to parade a steady stream of men that claim she abused them. The Dems have no game to combat this next appointment except to try to stop it.

Since each house writes it own rules, maybe? This is where the framers would have settled their disputes like gentlemen...

“Is she Obstructing the Senate?”

As the Senate is part of Congress, she is obstructing Congress, but according to the House of Representatives and half of American voters, Rats never commit any “impeachable” offenses, or any crimes at all.

We should send Pelosi a trophy for being the 6th Most Valuable Player for the Republicans for the 2020 elections.

  1. President Donald J. Trump for extraordinary accomplishments in the face of Do Nothing Democrats perpetually perpetrating hoaxes.
  2. Congressman Jim Jordan for his succinct and pinpoint defense of President Trump.
  3. Congressman Doug Collins for his clear spoken defenses of President Trump.
  4. Congressman Devin Nunes for uncovering the FISA abuses.
  5. Congressman Matt Gaetz for his fiery defenses of President Trump.
  6. Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for her interrogation of the hearsay witnesses
  7. Nancy Pelosi for leading Democrats to reveal their true unfair rule-breaking anti-democratic partisan nature to the American public.

I think the correct information should be used in the total evaluation of the legal case. Since posting I found that the hold on the military funds was lifted in mid Sept. Since the federal fiscal year closes at the end of Sept. there probably was not enough time to pin down some of the orders that would have been possible a month or two earlier right after Congress approved the original amount.

Aren’t you then suggesting that Nancy Pelosi can decide on her own whether or not to impeach a President?

"Just declare that if the Senate doesn’t receive it in 24 hours, it won’t be accepted later and it never happened."

The Senate has the sole power to try impeachments. I don't see anything that obligates them to do so. They could pass such a rule but it shouldn't be necessary. They can ignore the articles if they want to. They would then have to answer to the voters.

The House has the sole power to impeach. They didn't have to do it. But, in fact, they did do it. The Senate can recognize that they did it regardless of what Nancy says. Would the Supreme Court interfere? I don't think so.

"The Senate can decide what to do with it just as well as the Supreme Court can."

In this case I agree. Since the House may not agree, one way to maintain the peace (however tenuous) would be to let the Supreme Court rule on the matter.

I also see another path to resolution. The Constitution dictates that the Supreme Court Chief Justice shall preside over an impeachment trial of a President. It doesn't make such duty optional. That gives the Chief Justice standing in the matter. He could perhaps order the House to deliver up the articles to the Senate. Alternatively, the Chief Justice could petition the rest of the Court to make such an order. Wouldn't that be a hoot?

"Make the House either deliver it tomorrow, do it over correctly or run to SCOTUS begging."

After re-reading the relevant parts of the Constitution I now agree that the Senate could ignore it. They might draw a strong rebuke from the Chief Justice who is obligated to preside over any trial. But I don't now see any obligation to hold a trial. Instead the relevant clause simply prevents any other body from holding such a trial.

From post 218:

“All to justify massive voter fraud in 2020”

This is the most important issue to consecrate on.

The left led by Obama Soros Clintons House of Reps, Dems, eGOP et al are working night and day on vote/voter fraud in many ways.

Illegals w/driver licenses felons in and out of prison dead people fake voters soros machines, high up state officials voted in w/Soros money etc etc.

For sure in 2016 elections millions of fraudlent votes were cast for Hillary.

Only the surge of trump supporters prevented Clinton from winning.

It’s not going to be easy to keep Trump in office in 2020 elections.
