Meadows says Republican colleagues 'wrong' for suggesting Trump's phone call was inappropriate

Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) on Sunday said a pair of his Republican colleagues who took issue with President Trump's July 25 phone call with the Ukrainian president were wrong to suggest there was anything improper in the communication. CNN's Dana Bash asked Meadows on "State of the Union" to respond to Republican Reps. Mac Thornberry (Texas) and Mike Turner (Ohio) calling the phone call at the center of the impeachment inquiry “inappropriate” and “alarming,” respectively. “They are wrong,” Meadows said. “With all do respect for my colleague I was in the depositions,” he said, adding he was one of only a few House members to attend all the closed-door depositions of witnesses ahead of the public impeachment inquiries.

I agree with you on the woeful usages of “less” and “fewer.” Easy rule of thumb is if you can count it, use “fewer”, if you can’t count it, use “less.” I.e., “I have less gasoline in my tank, so there are fewer gallons of gasoline available to get me where I need to go.”

Meadows is full of it. President Trump can say whatever he wants to any foreign leader. The executive branch is co-equal with the other two and Congressional oversight does not extend to deciding whetehr a president has said the right thing. As a matter of fact, they are not supposed to even hear or see transcripts of any such conversations, they are privileged and secret.

So Meadows has sealed his fate. Watch for a primary contest ASAP.

Blame the “DEW” vs. “due” thing on Android auto-correct. Just about every time I try to write a carefully considered post using my tablet or phone that I am certain will impress my fellow freepers...
