Well, I don’t think I handled the first one so well. All the problems were with the tracheostomy they did “ in case of emergency caused by swelling”. I told the doctor I’d risk death before I let them do that again, especially since the majority of nurses didn’t know how to care for it.
They allowed it to get clogged several times and had to call respiratory people, had to call emergency people because I started hemorrhaging, etc. All because of something I didn’t need but they refused to remove.

Thanks for letting me rant.

That’s a point Nikki Haley made, Kelly and Tillerson were not elected, the President was. They should tell the President what they think, and if they don’t like his decisions, then leave.

And to the Twitter commentators saying that she didn’t inform the President, she was asked about it in another interview, and she said she did tell him.

Went to Olive Garden yesterday for 1 free Veterans meal, crowded and a lot of men and women in uniform, God Bless them.

Took advantage of the extra 15% on the 15% at Kohls.

Sister says 6 inches of snow at her house, yuk.
So glad Q is back.
Have a good one kids.

I saw that too.

Nikki is not backing down one bit.

I think Rex’s rebuttal to her was just what a weasel would say.

Tillerson is a Bush man and an oil man, tried to block Trump at every turn.

I didn’t realize he sent half the money to Palestine when Trump told him not too.

Like I have said before, looking forward to Trump’s book when he is no longer in the WH in 5 more years, he can let it all fly.

Sister told me yesterday that a friend of hers started taking CBD oil and in 3 weeks her diabetic count was normal.
Works in different ways for different folks.

“I didn’t realize he sent half the money to Palestine when Trump told him not too.”

I remember that. State Department made some weisel excuse that it was already appropriated on paper. Some people blamed Trump.

I haven’t been to Drudge in years. Guess that’s a very good thing!!! I haven’t found his headlines to be a compelling read back when i drifted away - probably because of what you said.

A snowy Tennessee morning here!!! Low of 13 tonight on top of that. I feel so sorry for the outside critters. And my arugula and lettuce plants.! I’ll attemp a rescue operation and put sheets over them today.

In the end, it is a real possibility that impeachment will fatally wound the presidential campaign of Joe Biden and leave Liz Warren as the party’s nominee. Warren will have to win Pennsylvania after promising to “ban fracking everywhere,” and win the rest of middle America after tweeting things like, “Black trans and cis women, gender-nonconforming, and nonbinary people are the backbone of our democracy.”

She’ll also have to defend stripping Americans of their health care and replacing it with a Medicare-for-All plan that cannot possibly be paid for without taxing the middle class into oblivion.

The entire impeachment saga will be politically destabilizing, and for what? The Republican Senate is likely to acquit the president and then it will be up to elected Democrats to explain to voters why they, the elected elite, deserved the privilege of throwing the president out of office more than the citizenry, who will be given the opportunity just a handful of months later at the polls.

If Congress’ self-serving attempt to dunk on Trump in impeachment in 2019 ultimately results in a Trump re-election in November of 2020, that will be a self-inflicted event and Americans will have little inclination to tolerate kvetching about the electoral college or Russian tampering.

Last week, the Senate confirmed Donald Trump’s 159th federal judge:

—112 on district courts
—45 on circuit courts
—2 on Supreme Court

Nearly all are in their 30s, 40s, 50s. This conservative bunch, picked with help from the Federalist Society, will shape US law for generations.

youtube, facebook, twitter.....and they’re getting away with it.

good morning! i increased my nerve medication last night and slept in today. Woke to snow! I wish i had seen the storm though, we don’t get this often.

So here’s my story ( and i’m sticking to it!)

I thought I had a case of dry eyes from hell. My eyes were dry no doubt but it was way more than that. Tried rounds of ridiculously expensive out-of-pocket treatments, plus traveling all over the state and then some, and it never really touched the pain. Finally, someone on the Facebook dry eye group suggested cornea neuropathy. So I wandered over to the cornea neuropathy group, and bingo, my symptoms were identical. (I don’t normally do social media except for here, but for orphan diseases, it is invaluable. So I’ve come to notice.)

So I ended up in Boston in October, saw a doctor there that has been doing research on corneal neuropathy. He also has the big expensive microscope that can actually see the corneal nerves. So I was diagnosed with a moderate case, said I am missing half of my corneal nerves. Put me on a protocol of lotemax, autologous serum drops, and nortriptyline. The serum drops are made with my own blood, so since I live in the middle of nowhere I get those mailed.

Because apparently the corneal neuropathy is not enough to deal with, I started having some pretty significant vision loss pretty rapidly. In August I was 20/20 with current glasses (I only keep track because I’ve been to so many doctors and they always test). September 17 I was 20/40. Now I’m somewhere around 20/100 and this came on all of a sudden. So I’m going to get new really thick glasses, exam on Thursday. But the cause of this is the interesting part. Been diagnosed with keratoconus, which I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. It’s progressive and eventually can’t be corrected with glasses so you have to get very expensive lenses and eventually a corneal transplant. Went to a cornea specialist in Asheville last week, just to see what treatment plan he would recommend, and he said my keratoconus appears to be stable and he thinks the vision loss is from cataracts!

I’m excited! As someone that has been highly myopic her whole life, I’ve been looking forward to those IOLs And seeing like a normal person for the first time ever! However, this couldn’t have come at a worse time. Cutting into my cornea, which the surgery which is the treatment for both conditions does, will surely irritate those corneal nerves. When I got to 40 or 50 mg nortriptyline my pain disappeared. For the first time since January 25 I am pain-free. I’m not real anxious to change that, but neither do I want to risk losing vision permanently.

so the next step is to figure out if it really is cataracts or carrot cake donuts (left that in for entertainment purposes lol). Going to see my keratoconus optometrist on Thursday and see what he says. (And get new glasses! I’ll probably need them every few months until we figure this out, boy has this been expensive.) Found another cornea specialist in Asheville and will go see what he says the week of Thanksgiving. If everybody corroborates the cataract story, when I go to Boston in January I’ll see what he says about cataract surgery. I know at some point the cataracts get so big you have no choice but to have them removed. So I’ll just have to pray The neuropathy doesn’t progress with the surgery. If I have keratoconus it’s even worse, there’s a surgery they do directly on the cornea that stabilizes the vision loss. But if I don’t do it my vision will keep deteriorating rapidly. That’s the scary one so I’m hoping it’s not it.

So that’s it for now. How have you been? And everyone else here? I have a lot to catch up on!
