I had to put my cat to sleep today, he was suffering. What a good boy, I shall miss him. I know he was only a cat, but I sure did love his company. He was an unusual and interesting cat. He worshiped my wife and followed her around as if she were some kind of feline deity, but would deign to spend some time with me as well.
Damn. I sure will miss him.
Condolences, FRiend.
Our 20 year old cat Vincent had to go to cat heaven this past spring. Hes buried along side his chum, Black Cat on the hillside above our house.
Vincent arrived as we began our house building project. He was the inspector every afternoon after the carpenters left.
I have a female cat that does the same, follows me around, but knows better than to follow the wife around. 8>)
Sorry to hear that, thats like losing a child.
No it isnt. Not even remotely.
Almost a year since I had to put my boy Joey to sleep. STILL hurts.
I miss Joey.....but I dont miss him sick. He was in pain and suffering
You’re Welcome, I’ve had so many Critters it’s almost hard to remember Them All. Dogs,Cats,Racoons,Guinea Pigs, Hamsters,Fish,Turtles but Mostly Dogs and the Bigger the Better IMO.
I’ve gotta fix some missing Pics on My FRHOMEPAGE, I’ll ping Ya when done.
Hang in there.
So sorry for the loss of your sweet kitty.
RIP Kitty!
So was my Squeek three years ago at the age of about 11 and when I read these threads I suffer again.
I guess God blesses us with these wonderful creatures but it pisses me off that HE leaves it up to us to make the decision to end their lives.....I don't want that job.
Pets are part of the family and you interact with them everyday. They leave a big hole when they are gone. I know from experience.
Condolences for the loss of your furry friend.
I understand. It hurts to say goodbye. Pets are truly innocent beings. Thank you and the author of this post for giving an innocent being a wonderful life. You might consider taking in a shelter pet in honor of the pet you lost. I know from experience it is so hard to say goodbye, but they bring us so many years of companionship and joy. Some innocent being is terrified right now in a shelter.
He was only a cat. He was part of your responsibility and something you loved and cared for. That is more than only anything. People who say that kind of thing to someone have closed their hearts.
You did the right thing. There have been times when I wished I could have helped my loved ones similarly. Part of caring for someone is helping them through the end.
You did you job well, and you can rest knowing your friend is grateful for your care, companionship, and love.
As a post script, your friend looks exactly like a feral cat that now has three kittens that are hanging out around my house. Don’t tell anyone but I’ve been setting out a dish of food for her for quite a while and now her kitties are eating out of it too.........
They do seem different from other cats. More loving and mellow, imo
...
I had an orange boy and that’s true.
Sorry to hear.
13 is young.
Poor boy.
I am sorry. We lost our kitty in April, so I know the feeling of losing a special pet.
