Mormons do serve in the military.

Remember just recently the Mormon Mayor of Weber UT, who was called up with his unit, was killed leaving a wife and 7 children. They are showcased on “Folds of Honor.”

Our HS government teacher is a Mormon and he also would be gone for several months when his unit was called up.

But it is true that many of the young men serve missions for their church instead of joining the military.

I’ve had several Mormon students join the military because they didn’t want to go to college or go on a mission but wanted to leave home, see more than our little community has to offer.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow. I’m picking up an old friend at the airport who is going to spend a few days with me. We reconnected at my HS 59th in August. I was in his wedding and that was the last day I saw him. He moved out of town and I enlisted in the army. He’s a widower and a BIG Trump supporter. He’s never been to Oregon and I can’t wait to show him Crater Lake, the coast, the Umpqua Trail and so much more.
So if I’m missing for a week you’ll know I’m ok.
I checked in on mom yesterday. She’s doing really well. She found someone to play Yahtzee with her, it’s her favorite game. Leaving in a bit to go to town, will stop by and say hello to her.
I’m definitely feeling good about having company and not having to worry that mom is taken care of.

My husband uses a C-Pap every night because when tested he quit breathing 40 times in a minute. I don't understand what you mean by an open hose and how could you use it outside as it needs plugged into electricity? Did you have a sleep study done? If so why aren't you using the mask and putting it on every night?

KRG Holds Emergency Meeting to Discuss Ongoing Developments in Iraq and Syria

Erbil, Kurdistan Region, Iraq (GOV.KRD) – Prime Minister Masrour Barzani today chaired a meeting of the Kurdistan Regional Government to discussing the evolving situation in Syria and threats to Iraq’s stability.

Addressing the recent developments in Syria, Prime Minister Barzani strongly affirmed that any military escalation in the country’s north-east would have severe consequences beyond the Syrian border.

Prime Minister Barzani called on all parties to engage in dialogue to de-escalate the situation and prevent the loss of innocent lives and further displacement of people toward vulnerable areas or the Kurdistan Region, which is still hosting over 1.1 million refugees.

Minister of Interior Reber Ahmed provided a detailed report on the potential humanitarian crisis in north-eastern Syria and the waves of mass displacements the Kurdistan Region could imminently face.

Minister Ahmed warned that the Kurdistan Region alone does not have the short-term capacity to respond to another influx of refugees. He urged the international community to adapt their humanitarian assistance in Iraq and Syria to further support the Kurdistan Region.

With regards to the ongoing protests in Iraq, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his hope that a swift and peaceful resolution can be found.
