Facebook has new devices to help you video chat from your couch!

Smart speakers are popular these days but Facebook says they’re missing a key feature – the ability to video chat!

The company’s new line of gadgets called Portal look like picture frames but let you make video calls, too! There’s even a model that sits on top of your TV so you can video chat from the couch.

Portal TV. This device sits on top of your TV and lets you video chat from the most comfortable seat in the house: your couch. It’s much more relaxing than trying to hold your phone out at arms length. The person on the other end can use another Portal or the Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp on their phone.

Facebook built a bunch of AI smarts into the wide angle camera: it can follow you around, include the entire group or focus on just one person you pick.

Anybody who puts a device like that in their homes deserves whatever these tech monopolies do with the video/audio and data.

I think threads like this are funny. There's one reason companies want information about how you live, what you care about, how you spend your time: MONEY.

They want you to buy their crap. That's it! It's all about separating you from your money. Nobody cares about you for any other reason. We just aren't that important. Does anyone on this website actually think the freakin' CIA cares about the latest fight you had with your wife??? It's the height of narcissism.

Permitted the search term "white genocide" to be used as a targeting criterion to aim advertising for products at 170,000 users who interacted with that subject.

When at their SF HQ in 2016 FB employees replaced a mural slogal, "Black Lives Matter" with the words, "All Lives Matter", Zuck returned the slogan to its original and reprimanded the employees as, "malicious and disrespectful".

In South Sudan in late Nov. 2018, Facebook permitted the auctioning of a CHILD BRIDE, age 16. The girl was sold for 500 cows, 3 cars and $10,000 and went into hiding. Five men, including some "high-ranking government officials," bid on the girl, according to Children's rights organization Plan International. At the same time it was revealed that Mexican child molesters had been using Facebook's Messenger app to collude regarding available kids and ongoing grooming prospects.
