Bette Midler's lavish Fifth Avenue penthouse apartment has gone on sale for an astonishing $50 million after the much-loved singer and entertainer revealed she wanted to downsize now that her daughter has flown the nest.

The Wind Beneath My Wings songstress, 73, who is married to performance artist Martin von Haselberg, has lived in the Upper East Side triplex which boasts stunning views of the Central Park reservoir, since 1996.

With a more than generous 7,000 square feet of space and an additional 3,000 square feet of outdoor space, the property is among the best of its kind anywhere in New York City.

Wow, now that's a retreat! Always dreamed of a place like that.

From the article you posted: “She and her husband, hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz, share two children.” SHARE two children? WTF?

“Alicia, I want the top half today. I’m always cleaning up their bottom halves.”

It’s very nice. But the people who actually LIVED in it made it that way.

You can $buy$ all sorts of things; but you have to create a real home from something other than money.

If I could afford it, I would only spend a million dollars on a state of the art house on the shore of Lake Michigan........Not over looking some damn degenerate city such as New York.......

Any place is as good to live as your attitude toward it is.

There are a lot of good people living in NYC - it’s their home, and they love it; and it would be much worse if all the good people left.

73, and her daughter just left?

I guess I’d probably be reluctant to leave a $50 million pad, too.

I see she doesn’t care about her “carbon footprint”

Probably not. But she sure as hell has an opinion about yours.

I’m guessing she got the place 20 years ago for two to four to five million, or so, and now is trying to cash in big, figuring time and her name make it worth $50 million. And she might be right - but only about the time part!

Bought for $3.5 mil in ‘96. It’s a rooftop triplex where single apartments sell for $20 mil.

I looked at them after you posted. I saw ten to the page. One comment was favorable to her highness. The rest underscored her hypocrisy and vanity. Mostly about her statements in favor of crimigration.

I assumed she was commie lib but now I know. I never cared for her singing either.

$50 million? $25,000 monthly maintenance? Bette Midler? I mean, she's had some good moments, but that's a lot of money.

The media and entertainment elites live in a fairy tale world when it comes to money. That's a big reason their politics are so insane.

Since Weird Bette just spouted off about Wm. Barr/DOJ having no conscience and being Trump's stooge, I just searched a little on the old horny bag, Bette. I found this.

Her place ......... sure looks like most of those lavish dumps always look ............. no one ever lives there.

Put out a newspaper or an old bottle of wine ..... (the area rug under the couch looks like someone tripped over it, though.) ;-)

Nobody needs a place that big. Seems she needs to pay her fair share.
