I was supposed to be arrested 2 weeks ago

Posted on 08/29/2019 1:34:17 PM PDT by Kevin in California

This, according to the call I got from the SSA (since when did they start calling people? LMAO) telling me a legal lawsuit had been filed against me by the Federal Reserve Bank and if I didn’t call back the Federal Marshals by the close of the day, they were going to come and arrest me……LMAO!

There’s no end to the lengths these scammers will go to fraud/scam people. This call was an attempt to get my SS#. Nice try asshole! It’d be nice to meet one of these scammers in a back alley and fold their teeth back.

Anyone receive calls similar to this? This call came from a 985 area code which is Louisiana.

Federal Marshals? You're a VIP! I'm still waiting for "local law enforcements" to come and get me.

I got myself a bamboo flute.
When I get calls I pass myself off as a “wise old indian”,
then I proceed with my endless wisdom complete with flute music.
The spirit of the buffalo guides me and the coyote calls to me. I go on for minutes but usually hear a click after the first flute solo.

”I saw something the other day that said the goobermint can’t stop it because they are calling from foreign countries. Right.”

I know one department of the federal government that can stop it, and in fact they specialize in operating in foreign countries. (I can dream anyway)

Every couple months, for several weeks, I get a couple of these a week on my cell phone. Then nothing for a couple months, then it starts up again. I guess they’re working through piles of numbers?

I really like the “Department of Social Security Administration” in the robot voice.

And the threat that my SSN will be “suspended” if I don’t reply.

And always with spoofed numbers so you can’t block the calls.

Pain in the neck.

An FBI that doesn’t prosecute crooks like Comey won’t bother with small fry like phone spammers. Caveat emptor.

re. I get ten telemarketer calls a day. They all come from not just my area code but from our county, at least the phone says so.

A common gimmick now is to fake a number from your own exchange, hoping you'll think it's a neighbor and you'll pick up.

Sometime they go overboard though. Last Thursday I got 11 calls at the house... all of them from my own number.

They have technology to prevent spoofing. Why don’t they?
= = =

Protecting the ‘copper’ land lines is hard.

Cels have apps for that, but why should I have to play that game?

I think they use the ‘No-Call list for their source material.’

I got one a couple of days ago, from an restricted number. They left a voice mail, which I now regret deleting. The US Marshalls were on their way to deliver papers, and the only way to stop it was too call…phone number.
I’ve received three calls from Louisiana since, but no voice mails. I never answer calls from numbers I don’t know.

I forgot to mention they had my name, and they called my ex-husband. He threw a fit.

Just remember folks, don’t make the mistake I always do and make the comment that from their accent, they must be from Pakistan. They get really mad and start cussing. You would think I would have learned by now.

These people disgust me. They have abused the phone system. The phone companies need to provide positive identification of the actual source of every call.

I got one of those American Injun calls last year.

He said I owed plenty wampum and heap big skins.

I had two moons to pay up or I would be scalped.

Nothing actually happened.

These things come in waves and eventually they ebb away. I haven’t gotten a Nigerian email in a long time now. The tax thingy with the police coming to arrest me happened for a while a couple of years ago but again haven’t gotten any lately. Perhaps they target areas and then move on to the next but who knows their patterns. What I have been getting lately and I’m not sure this is happening in America right now since I live in the Toronto area and I have no idea if its telemarketing or some scam is Chinese robocalls in Chinese. Now where I live there are a lot of Chinese. So they are the obvious target but getting a robocall in Chinese is a complete waste of time for me at least. All I do is get the number and block it but they seem to have an infinite supply of numbers.

Gee, I get text messages along with phone calls. with the calss, I found that if i answer the phone and not say anything the calls disconnects in a few seconds. Probably a robocaller program that routes a live response to one of their customer services types.

It’s all extended maintenance on a car i don’t own anymore, or a Canadian pharmacy.
