President Trump on Saturday sought to smooth over his prickly relationship with French President Emmanuel Macron as he arrived in France for the G7 summit telling reporters he loves French wine, hours after threatening to slap tariffs on the export. I love French wine, the president told reporters sitting opposite Macron for a lunch after his arrival in Biarritz. We actually have a lot in common, Emmanuel and I, he said. Weve been friends for a long time and every once in a while we go at it just a little bit, not very much, but we get along very well, we have a great relationship, I think I can say a special relationship.

Tariffs on wine!!?!?!?
I’m voting for the gay guy/gal or the socialist guy/gal or the racist guy/gal in 2020!!!
It’s not gonna be easy choosing just one dem for me :)
Monsieur Trump,
Thinking that good relations with France are more better than the money that will come here from the tarriffs.
Go after China.
Just don't attack him unfairly....you'll have hell to pay.
I see a run on American wine.
Macaroni must be a beer drinker cause he must of had beer goggles on when he married his OLD lady.
Keep in mind that the EU “duty” on US wine importation is double what we impose on wine from the EU. We could double ours and only be equal to the import duty they already impose.
I didn’t know that. thanks.
but honest most of the wine i drink is made by a friend who makes it in his cellar.
We WOPs like to keep it real :)
Plus its free :)
POTUS DJT must have been some sort of terror to negotiate with over those real estate deals that made him millions. WTG DJT!
Trump is a teetotaler
Nothing personal it’s just business got it.
Couldn’t care less. We don’t drink french wine.
Trump is just keeping little Macron in line.
Hot for teacher.
Our past leaders were selling America down the river. About time we had one who’s looking out after us.
I’ll have to get it on the black, er, french market :)
President Trump looks on this like the Corleone Family would: nothing personal, it is just business.
There’s lots of Texas wineries going in. Can’t drive down any road around here without seeing a new one.
Lots of wild mustang grapes everywhere for bathtub wine which we’ve been fighting to get off the fence for decades. They make for good jelly but you have to use a ton of sugar and they’re just as bad a poison ivy for causing stinging reactions.
