The House Judiciary Committee is prepared to vote next week on a resolution laying out the procedures for its investigation now that it is actively considering moving to impeach President Donald Trump, a major step toward formalizing its sweeping probe, according to multiple sources familiar with the effort.
The vote, which is expected to occur on Wednesday, will lay out the ground rules for conducting hearings now that the committee has publicly announced it is considering recommending articles of impeachment against Trump.
It is expected to follow the precedent set in 1974 over the committee's procedures during then-President Richard Nixon's impeachment proceedings.
The resolution, sources say, is expected to make clear that future House Judiciary hearings can be conducted in ways different from most congressional hearings since the panel is considering impeachment.
For instance, the resolution is expected to authorize committee staff counsels to question witnesses, something that is typically not done at congressional hearings.
The resolution also will spell out how secret grand jury information can be reviewed in closed-door sessions.
And it will say that the President's counsel can respond in writing to the committee.

So they are going this route to see grand jury information and have staff interview witnesses, which they couldn't get away with before.
I don't know if it works this time, but I predict a landslide win for President Trump 2020.

Thank you. I only thought I was picking up the impeachment information. You know how with a tablet it’s easy to pick up more than what you thought when you are copying. I forgot to preview and it slid through. I did that yesterday too.
My brain is distracted lately. That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it.

It’s ok, Rusty.
I thought that was what you were intending but there is some other good info there too.
Let them impeach away at their peril.
I am enjoying reading The Mrs. Murphy Mystery series, on book 3.

Love the light breaking through the trees.
I suppose the LSM is carping about Trump off to play golf, AGAIN.
If Trump matched Obummer or Clintoon hour by hour of who worked harder I know who would win.
The proof is in how much our President has down for the country in 2 1/2 years.
Cavuto, the stupid dolt, was wondering why Trump's numbers weren't higher since the economy is so good.
The panel never once mentioned how he is assailed by the lying LSM 24/7, that may be the problem, ya think?

Sweet pictures.
My mom used to always say she needed to visit Mrs. Murphey when she needed to use the restroom. I said it too, until I got older and my friends mocked me out of it.
