Her best-selling book and the racy TV series it inspired taught a generation of women that they could ‘have it all’.

But Sex and the City creator Candace Bushnell, 60, has admitted that she regrets choosing a career over having children as she is now ‘truly alone’.

The TV series starred Sarah Jessica Parker as a writer in New York who famously chooses her independence over motherhood.

Many women successfully have both. (Career and childtrn)

It’s the libertine attitude towards sex that’s the problem.

I was not a regular watcher of the show (and I'm not defending it) but there was always the undertone that Carrie wanted a monogamous, committed relationship and family with the "Prince Charming" Mr. Big. That made her at least somewhat sympathetic.

The show drove me crazy though with their cheap, 2 dimensional portrayals of the hyper sexualized, man-trampoline Samantha and the feminist/careerist wooden Miranda and her castrated boyfriend.

The whole show was a vomitous mass of post-modern, American urban feminist cognitive dissonance spewed out on film

The insol and the incel are on opposite ends of the spectrum in the toxic paradigm called feminism.

You bit on a lie, lady.

It works that way. Children are messy and noisy and challenging, but they are our investment in tomorrow.

Self worship has a price tag. Who knew?

I actually read the article because I was looking for one specific thing....

I wanted to see if there was any recognition on her part that her portrayals encouraged other women to make the same mistake she did, and that she may have helped create an entire subculture of women who now find themselves alone.

I didn't see that, so I have zero sympathy for her. In her case, it's still "all about me."

I know too many women who regret having married/settled down too soon thereby missing the opportunity to pursue other interests they are passionate about...and some are divorced for that same reason. So it’s a balance.

The real problem with the show was its attitude toward sex.

I think it’s okay she ruined her own life.

Maybe it’s even good.

It’s the VERY many other girls inspired BY her I really feel sorry for.

It seems strange TV could be an instrument of genocide, but there it is.

Yes. People vary. My grandmother was married for 57 years, and raised 6 children. One day, when she was in her mid 80s, she was reminiscing about how hard it had been, living through the Depression, and other things. I said, "But if you had it to do all over again, wouldn't you?" And she actually scowled at me and said, "No. I wouldn't get married. I'd join the Army." I about fell over...

You could also use the word autocide, and you are absolutely correct.

The USA is going to have more “lonely” old women who are bitter and grouchy, complaining that society treats them badly, in about 15-20 years.

And they'll vote Democrat.

Funny thing is:

These are the women you later encounter in a professional setting.

By then they’re desperate and the minute they think they have made a strong pass at you and you’re not interested..?

They WILL try to get you fired. I mean that even if you were super nice and simply played dumb.

They’ll be pissed as hell, like you slapped them in the face.

Silicon Valley and San Francisco are FILLED with this type of woman.

One thing she probably doesn't realize is that in all probability she would have been a lousy parent. Too selfish.

Women like this usually think that children are here for their benefit. Hairless puppies so to speak.

I've got a sister-in-law like that who could never put her children's needs ahead of her own. And lo and behold her daughter has grown up to be the same way and is on the way to destroying her kid's life.

That’s OK, like Obama once said, the government will be there to take care of women from the cradle to the grave. Who needs husbands or kids when you have social workers to drop by once in a while?
