David Hedison, who starred in the original sci-fi classic The Fly and appeared in two James Bond films, has died. He was 92.
He died Thursday in Los Angeles with his daughters at his side, a representative for the family, Jennifer Allen, said in an email Monday.
Hedison portrayed Capt. Lee Crane in the long-running sci-fi television series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea and Spencer Harrison on the daytime series Another World.

Which one is he?
The one to the left of the Admiral (Richard Basehart). I remember him and loved “The Fly”. Especially the ending. RIP Mr. Hedison.
‘Hedison portrayed Capt. Lee Crane in the long-running sci-fi television series Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea
loved that show, even with the pompous Richard Basehart as the admiral...
He was great with Robert Mitchum in ‘The Enemy Below’. RIP, Lt. Ware. Hope this is a better yacht race than the ones in Miami.
The Flying Sub And a bay window in the front of a submarine.
Good times.
He is the center officer of the three officers standing.
‘I remember him and loved The Fly. Especially the ending.’
‘help me, help me...’; the most unearthly sound my nine year old ears had ever heard...and as a bonus, the oily queer Vincent Price played a good guy, even if it was the most sinister good guy ever...
Chip, Lee, The Admiral.
Sparks sitting.
A sub with picture windows!! How cool is that!!
Yeah. The window. The flying sub. Always thought it was lame. Right up there with space 1999 and The Black Hole.
I believe that’s Kowalski sitting... :^)
Loved that show when I was a kid. It’s on MeTV now, late Saturday nights (2:00 am) followed by Land of the Giants and Time Tunnel.
I thought it was creative.
I did think the seaweed attacks were lame.
Youre probably right.
I get my submarine radio operators mixed up sometimes.
Just as I always see William Shatner as Captain Kirk, I always see David Hedison as captain of the sub in Voyage...
as a kid I loved that show.
Far left with his back to the camera
HA! What a lineup.
Imagine what Star Trek would have been like if it had been an Irwin Allen production. :D
It got old when there was nothing but constant monsters attacking the sub.
