There was an incredible amount of money (billions) spent since Katrina on large flood control projects for New Orleans.

Same mind set as those who would spend billions fighting natural climate change.

For all practical purposes the power of nature is near infinate and natural forces will prevail in the end.

IMHO The money would have been better spent relocating residents to an area where the land is above the high water mark.

If people want to live in an area like New Orleans it should be on their own dime.
They should accept the risk of their decisions - not rely on taxpayers to bail them out.
Isn't that why people purchase their own insurance?

If an insurance company doesn't want to insure a risk at a reasonable cost that's a message and a signal!

The rain cycle has changed since I lived there. It was actually quite dry back then. I remember Grandpa saying, “If it doesn’t rain, the crops are going to dry up.”

Great fun. 👋 Had a festival in a little town where I own a piece of property. Too sick to go, but saw some neat tractors, trucks and cars come by filling station and heading home. My own private parade. Nothing is better than people lined up walking by other people who are lined up and waving at each other on a beautiful summer day!

COOL. We once owned a "68 Dodge Charger...beautiful blue. My husband bought it at factory price as did all soldiers in Nam. It was delivered a couple weeks after he returned. Blue with a black vinyl top.

I worked the phones in 2000 and even though the question was on the form..(DC listening).WE WERE INSTRUCTED to say...I don't want to know if your a US citizen or not..just to be counted....so lets be honest here...they were counted a LEGAL!
