WTF difference does it make if his gushing over commie Jane Fonda's treasonous actions during Vietnam were said in a monologue or intro??
Leno was continually making jokes about Bush (and Clinton). So it was a noticeable contrast when Leno rarely made jokes about Obama.
It matters because it shows how ignorant you people are about Carson, Leno or Letterman. It’s pathetic.

He’s great. This man has no ego getting in the way of his behavior. He’s a good guy.
fantastic
I saw an interview with Leno about it and Leno was respectful and gracious.
Also, I don't remember Leno making a joke about Obama although there was plenty of material. I think that he knew that it was risky and that he would be labeled a racist.
If he claims to be a Liberal, I would take him at his word. Since I never watched him, it is immaterial to me.
Good show too if you are a car person. I watch it on youtube.
Your post is immaterial to me.
Agreed. Letterman got the raw end of the deal. At the time I sympathized with Letterman. However, as he got older, and in recent years he got nastier and more political. I still won’t say that he deserved his treatment but I have no sympathy for him, now.
In the earlier years of his show, Letterman’s show was very creative and funny and entertaining. I wonder how many fans he lost when he got political.
Love the show. :)
Granted, Carson did rarely go into politics (and thank God for that, given how outrageously far left his politics obviously were), very unlike damn-near every late night or daytime talk show hosts ever since, who regularly mock and attack republic presidents and other Rep politicians. Leno was practically alone in his occasional criticism of Comrade Obama. Of course the control-freak leftists would want him to go away.
And Tim Allen has been on "Jay Leno's Garage" several times.
Early years letterman reminded me of Steve Allen without musical genius. Then he went dog nuts on bush every night even after Obama elected. Angry old liberal
I loved Letterman in the 80s - his show was hilarious. He went off the deep end. I know people who worked for him at the end. They say he was mentally ill. He would ask his writers to produce 80 jokes a day and then discard them.
He’s not recognizable.
Thank you.
There you go again, being a snooty elitist, like on that Picasso thread I posted some weeks ago, implying that FReepers are stupid and/or ignorant for not being able to appreciate Pablo's...'great masterpieces'. ie, repulsive garbage.
What is it with you?
What a waste. Now I despise him. Good riddance.
