Agreed. Letterman got the raw end of the deal. At the time I sympathized with Letterman. However, as he got older, and in recent years he got nastier and more political. I still won’t say that he deserved his treatment but I have no sympathy for him, now.

In the earlier years of his show, Letterman’s show was very creative and funny and entertaining. I wonder how many fans he lost when he got political.

Early years letterman reminded me of Steve Allen without musical genius. Then he went dog nuts on bush every night even after Obama elected. Angry old liberal

I loved Letterman in the 80s - his show was hilarious. He went off the deep end. I know people who worked for him at the end. They say he was mentally ill. He would ask his writers to produce 80 jokes a day and then discard them.
