Horrible. There was a reason to keep people in the military wearing short hair, no head covering and no facial hair.
Once you agree to one precedent others will follow. Standards and traditions fall.

Yes I agree they are cool AND they will protect us against Muslims!
What other minority groups are now going to expect special exceptions?

I have always believed that wearing the uniform of these United States was an honor and a privilege. I say that if you can’t be 100% part of the team, then you have no business in being on the team.

I’ve watched two Sikh war movies and they both had a couple of song and dance numbers in them.

One of the bigger reasons why the military doesn’t allow anyone in the ranks to walk around groomed like a Bedouin goatherd - conformity and discipline aspects aside - is to make sure your gas/air mask forms a solid seal. A Grizzly Adams beard and Gene Simmons hairdo ain’t gonna help your situation if someone’s lobbing chemical weapons at you.
I’ve always wanted to include Sikhs in our armed forces; they make great fighters. And if they want their own distinctive uniform, then fine by me!
If it were up to me: Jarhead haircut, clean shaven, no jewelry, tats, piercings, heterosexuals only. No homos.
Air Force. No uniform inspections.

Bull crap! You enlist, your head and face get shaved, period! We can’t have bibles or wear crosses, but these guy can wear turbans to respect their religion? Don’t give a dam if they hate Muslims.
