Youre not going to like this.
Millennials spend more time on social media than older generations: People ages 25-34 spend 141 minutes per day on it, versus 105 for the 35-44 set. And that could be hurting both their finances and mental health.
Indeed, nearly half of millennials (49%) say that their spending habits have been influenced by the photos and experiences their friends share on social media, compared with only about one-third of Americans in general, according to a data survey of more than 1,000 Americans by financial firm Charles Schwab.
Social media has become the millennials financial Achilles Heel. Allianz Life 2018 survey
Other surveys have uncovered similar trends: Roughly two in three millennials think that social media has a negative impact on their financial well-being, according to a 2018 survey of more than 2,000 millennials from financial firm Fidelity. Data released in 2018 by mobile bank firm Varo Money found that 53% of millennials admit to buying something they saw advertised on social media. And a 2018 survey from Allianz Life shows that more than half of millennials (57%, versus just 28% of Gen Xers and 7% of boomers) say theyve spent money they hadnt planned to because of something they saw on social media.

I'd feel sorry for you, but since you haven't the sense to stop digging, not only don't I, you poor egomaniac, but am laughing my socks off AT you!
The religious forum covers most of your request. I would also include the march for justice posts about bars/restaurants etc and kristins after action reports. I would also include the posts for freeping at Walter Reed to support the troops and for telling gore to get out of Cheneys house etc. The Gardening Threads, The Freeper Canteen etc.
That’s just off the top of my head. I work while I freep.
My point is that anything that consists of a community of people who post to each other can suffer negative consequences as discussed in the article.
Everything in moderation!
I blame the parents of those millennials.
Helicopter parenting. Structured and supervised activities throughout their entire childhood. Never letting their children out of their sight. Badgering them constantly about getting good grades so they can go to some liberal arts college instead of learning a trade or skill that will set them up for life. Allowing the grown children to live with them - into their 30s and beyond. Including making their beds, doing their laundry for them and cooking for them.
This is all bad.
I agree 100%
I spent decades writing software in arcane programming languages that you probably would not understand and that are not conducive to developing great skills in grammar. I Retired at 56 years old quite (incredibly) comfortably. You can laugh all you want.
I laughed all the way to the bank. Documenting properly was contracted out to the lowest bidder.
They are a dime a dozen.
If THAT was supposed to impress me, please allow me to assure you that it absolutely, positively, did nothing of the kind! And why you believe that this is a p*ssing contest, I don't understand at all. What you're ( THERE'S THAT NEATO CONTRACTION AGAIN...SPELLED CORRECTLY! ), now doing is snowflakey Millennhial; a wordy, instead of pictorial, version of Instagram, FaceBook, personal BLOG, whatever that this thread's artical is talking about and NOT what is "normal" on FR!
Why not?
I've always thought it looked like a pretty fun time!
Its a good thing that I have wildcrafting skills and like to eat “weird” things. Looks like Im going to need it.
When you have a chance, could you please email this to me 40 years ago? Thanks in advance... the past? Maybe thats the future....
Helicopter parents.
Lol, I was just about to comment specifically about the apostrophe nazis when that started.
Thanks for playing the straight man in todays episode of the Frothing Chihuahua in a Bomb Belt skit. So much of the humor value of FR would be lost if we didnt each take our turns.
Given that I “need a remedial reading comprehension course”, I’ll risk further nipping at my heels and take that as a complement.
You should have read what I told him he could go do to himself before it was deleted.
