The property owners said they would have to clean up all of the human feces, so the organizers canceled.
I was 19 when the original Woodstock took place. Never heard of it until months after it was over.
“There’s no turnin’ back my friend
There’s no turnin’ back...”
After the Disney Slut Factory ran her through their wringer , yes
It was all so natural....so free.
I took off all my clothes.
If I had to go to the bathroom, I just went where I was.
Ill mow the lawn again next week.
my brother was at Woodstock 92 for the weekend with the main stage Metallica etc. He wouldn’t do it again..he even saw Metallica a year ago and couldnt deal with Hetfield not hitting those hard notes which he used to do back in the late 90’s. He felt old LOL
Scores of the original artists are dead and gone.
There are few new ones who have a chance of replacing the originals.
When you’re hot, you’re hot.
When you’re cold, you’re on the wrong side of the grass.
“You can never go home again.”
Interestingly, Lee, today’s songs have VERY few guitar or keyboard or sax solos. Instead, you know what the solo is?
Rap. Typically a female singer will do a song (say, Demi Lovato) and the once-common guitar solo is filled with a rap break.
I’ll never forget that horrendous smell.
I did discover the Chris Perez band, though. Selenas widower. His band was excellent and it was held in a hangar w/ very small crowd. Underrated guitarist.
I was just thinking that.
I'll spin my old vinyl BS&T and Airplane and Alvin Lee - I know I'll never see them as 20-year olds again.
And that's OK - I don't live in the past. Just visit once in a while....
Good. The company I work for looked into it, too much red tape dealing with New York State. New York says you need a NY State ID card in order to work as a unarmed security guard. The cards issued by the state of Virginia have your DMV photo on it. Asked if that would suffice , nope. Our boss said I have a 100 people, can you get me 100 ID cards if we got up there a day early, nope, nope, so he told them nope, cant do it.
The truth is that music has a different place in our culture than it did back then. It’s just not the same. At all.
(Don Henley, 'The Boys of Summer')
Does this mean the 50 Anniversary of Altamont is also cancelled?
Canned Heat!? I believe the original drummer and bass player are still kicking, but Alan Wilson their lead singer died young in 1970.
I have never gone to a reunion and have zero desire to go.
In a interview Townsend said they demanded paid up front in cash.
They also spiked the band’s tea with LSD.
Yeah man! Glad I saw Ten Years After in Philly in 1973. Alvin Lee was a hell of a guitar player. He played slide on the mic stand and the crowd loved it!
Sha-Na-Na is still around, so there are a few old timers that could theoretically show up.
