Oh ma,
It is fabulous.
We went with some friends one year, motor home drive there from Michigan.
Parades were great, people partying everywhere. People on the back of motorhomes mooning everyone, a wild time.

We just had general admission, which means the infield.

We were drinking mint julups and saw that people selling them could never get past the ground floor, then everything they were selling was sold out.

So we bought their wrist bands for 5 or 10 bucks and put them on and went into the clubhouse.

Went to the bar and there was Debbie Reynolds talking to AJ Foyt.
She was drunk as a skunk.

When the race was about to start we were in the aisle and this fellow said to us, you cannot stand there.
He said, “Come into my booth.”
Can you believe it, he was at the start finish line, it was amazing and would never happen like that again.

Went to the Indy 500 the same year, had VIP tickets and were escort to the track by a motorcycle officer who did stunts on his motorcycle.

Those were the days, my friend.

If I remember correctly when they were finishing up there the soldiers were saying the women and children needed to not resist and come join them. It makes me wonder at the number. These are No Name's soldiers. I have no trouble talking about this dead man. I say block their bank account..wife's too....and help pay for the price of taking these evil people in. OR just shoot them. That seems to be the best way to deal with the problem.

Cubans are coming in, via the caravans, into the US. The minute a Cuban sets foot on US soil they are granted asylum.

That’s another law that needs to be changed. IMO.

Great story weston...In 1976 we were in Philadelphia. While walking down the street there the All Star plays were getting off there buses going into a hotel. We saw so many stars of that day. Do you remember Mark Fidrych? "The Bird"...he would talk to the ball before he would throw the pitch. Johnny Bench..Pete Rose...Dave Concepcion...George Foster...Steve Garvey...Greg Luzinski...Joe Morgan..pretty much the ones I remember. Their hotel was across the street from ours. After the big game around a week later the hotel was close because of Legionaries disease. They had to scrub down the entire hotel. No player got sick form staying there.

We used to go to Tiger stadium with the kids all the time in Michigan.
I remember the bird.

I’ve been to the 500. Our highschool band was the honor band for two years so we were close. Too close. The accident in 63 or 64 came up over the fence within a few feet of the bus where we were changing clothes.

Several time to the time trials (which I like better). And then in press seats behind the pits for a few Seasons. A couple in Infield, always a drunken mess.
MY favorite line from hubby to wife “I know exactly where we parked the car! It was right under the Goodyear blimp!”

Yes. I did Don’t know any of the horses this year. Announcer said the favorite was the “prettiest”. That’s why the favorite. He won on a sloppy track down south and they are forcasting the same for the race.
