I just got a call from Windflier's wife, he has taken
a downturn from a pre-existing problem and is pretty
much bedridden and not eating.
He has stage 4 Squamous cell carcinoma which I had to look up:
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is the second most
common form of skin cancer. It's usually found on
areas of the body damaged by UV rays from the sun or
tanning beds. Sun-exposed skin includes the head,
neck, chest, upper back, ears, lips, arms, legs, and
hands. SCC is a fairly slow-growing skin cancer.
I'm told he's in good spirits but is now "resistant"
to further medical treatment. Because he's stubborn.
Prayers for him and the family would be appreciated.
Thanks very much.
Here he is during better days:
My wife says she is praying especially for Windflyer’s wife because she knows what it is like to try and take care of someone who is being cared for who ignores all of her caregiver’s requests. (I have no idea who she is talking about. ; )”
Oh Dear God, no!!
Just no!
Sissy, can you PING the Prayer Warriors?
Sorry if I have double pinged some folks!
Windflier!
You fight and get better, ya hear?
Sending fervent prayers for hope and healing!
Praying for God’s will for Windflier.
Almost lost the tip of my nose to skin cancer——prayers to Windflier.

Prayers for Windflier’s health and healing.
Aw, geez! Without meaning to diss anyone else, I always considered Windflier one of the best FReepers.
“Windy”, you absolutely have my prayers, best wishes, and great respect!
Please forward: I’m praying for you, Windflier.
Cancer is a beast. My Shirley is living with stage 4 breast cancer, attacking her spine.
We are on the ketogenic diet to deprive it of as much glucose as we can.
We are also looking into hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). Advanced Hyperics is nearby, so we stopped in for a look. Beautiful chambers, reasonable price of $1k for ten treatments. Probably need at least 50 treatments, three times a week, sixty minutes at 2.5 atmospheres of 100% oxygen.
Dr. Dominic D’Agostino talks about it in this video. I have it cued up to start at the cancer portion of his talk:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGN_DV9UVSU&t=46m23s
He is also on a (very long, very interesting) podcast with Dr. Peter Attia. Scroll down a bit at this link:
https://peterattiamd.com/domdagostino/
Towards the end of the podcast, Peter asks him what he would do if he or a loved one were diagnosed with brain cancer. He answers ketogenic diet, metformin, HBOT, and high dose IV vitamin C. He also mentions a couple of glycolysis inhibitor drugs that may not be available to the public, like DCA, and 2DG.
Yes - I am rather fair skinned, as is one of my brothers who had a bout with skin cancer from excessive outdoor exposure / many burns. He “only” lost an ear.
When my wife went to Philippines, last time, I had her bring me back the widest dang hat she could find. I still need to put a string on it, as it blows off easily. But, it’s great in rain or sun.
Ping.
Prayers for Windy! Hang in there DAWG Pound brother.
Prayers!
Thanks for posting, humblegunner. Sheesh...prayer for you, Windflier. Very respected.
love
Loving God, I pray that you will comfort Windflier in his struggle with cancer, lend skill to the hands of his healers, and bless the means used for his treatment. Give him and his wife such confidence in the power of your grace, that they may put their whole trust in You; through our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
Praying.

Prayers up for my FRiend, Windy, and his dear family.
They are pretty awesome.
Been on a few trips with them and a bunch of gun ranges.
Well mannered smart kids with quite good range discipline.
Good shots, too!
