May was Home Secretary and an article written in June 25,2014 May said this about Snowden.

When questioned about the numerous secret files leaked by ex-NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, and if the United Kingdom was becoming a surveillance state, May dismissed the claims as "absurd" .

"There is no programme of mass surveillance and there is no surveillance state," she said, and added that accusations GCHQ had been unlawfully spying on citizens were "nonsense", the BBC reports.

The Snowden files revealed Britain's role in the Five Eyes partnership with the United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia, along with slides that detailed the extent of a worldwide spying scandal that has compromised diplomatic and business relationships internationally.

She countered that the UK actually needed to increase its reach in intelligence, in particular referencing emerging threats in Iraq, Nigeria, Yemen and east Africa. This point of view sits in line with Theresa May's insistence on introducing a "Snooper's Charter" - which was blocked by the Liberal Democrat coalition party. The unpopular proposal would have explicitly made clear the police and intelligence services' powers to access the web browsing history and social media messages of any individuals.

NIKK...My questions is..what ask the Home Secretary this subject if it doesn't apply to her??

I’m so sorry to hear that, Jemian. Wasn’t it just yesterday that Erdogen was again denying the genocide?

This is a very sad situation.

I really feel bad for the Peoples’ family.

Having been around many with PTSD seems like Isaiah was having an episode or a flashback.

Feel so sorry for those he hurt, praying none die.

Doesn’t seem to be anything to do with terrorism, thankfully.

Our past is our past. While I don’t hold any living Turk personally responsible for what happened in the town of Guerin (I think it was), I do view all moslems with quite a bit of caution and mistrust.

Caution ? MIstrust? Most of us feel that way and we don’t have your background or reasons! They have certainly given us reason!

Seems like May does protest too much.

We all know that the Obummer admin was spying on many people, some we know about but I bet there is many we don’t know about.

When GWB 1st proposed the Patriot Act I thought, hmmmmm, what could go wrong, an unethical administration could use this in a very bad way and I do believe I was right.

Well, I knew they were Armenian, and my friend was in his late forties and had told me they came from Russia. So I just asked his dad about immigrating, found out they were originally from Turkey. He must have gathered from my knowledge (limited) about the situation and what I said that I was not sympathetic to the Muslims so he opened up. Poor old man, but thank God, they are living a good successful Christian life here for many years. My friend only remembered escaping to Russia when he was young, and that things weren’t that much better there.

Scoop: Trump indicated in phone call with Libyan strongman Khalifa Haftar last wk that US supported an assault on Tripoli to depose its UN-backed govt.

In a separate call, Bolton also left Haftar with impression of US green light, sources tell me,

During his visit to the White House earlier this month, Egypt’s El-Sisi urged Trump to back Haftar, and that was a deciding factor in Trump’s support for the Libyan strongman, sources tell me and @nwadhams

Maybe if more people like my friend’s dad and your brother spoke out about their stories more people would know the truth.
But I completely understand that some things are hard to talk about, and they never know what kind of response they will get.

US Gave Rogue General Haftar “Green Light” To Attack Tripoli

European officials as well as UN-backed leadership in Tripoli have both confirmed and angrily denounced President Trump’s recent sharp reversal of longstanding US policy which recognized only the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) as the legitimate authority over Libya, with Fayez al-Sarraj as prime minister. The UN, UK and others have long backed Sarraj, while the UAE, Egypt, and France have been vocal supporters of Haftar.

Late last week the White House had shocked European allies in announcing that President Trump had spoken by phone to offer support to Benghazi based commander Kalifa Haftar, at a moment his Libyan National Army (LNA) lays siege to the capital.

Mueller did his best to terrify my wife. He subpoenaed her, threatened to put her in front of the grand jury and told her “leave George, he’s finished.” Not only did we get married, we both worked together to expose the core of the greatest spy scandal ever. Don’t ever give up!

EU officials have this week urged President Trump to reverse his surprise declaration of US support for Haftar's LNA. European officials have further demanded greater clarity of the United States' position on Libya, saying Washington's policy confusion will only add fuel to the chaos
PRESIDENT TRUMP loves chaos and loves teasing EU and Merkel

Yes, he was. Apparently he is ashamed of his ancestor’s actions. AS WELL HE SHOULD BE. I think today is the anniversary of that sad time.

My grandfather, who was a young man away at university at the time, told tales of how some escaped and some didn’t.

Many did escape to Russia. We suspected there may be a few dJemJemians in the USSR, but we did not want to cause trouble by making inquiries. For many, many years we thought there were only 8 of us in the world, my grandparents and my dad who was an only son and us kids.

Then, in the early 90s my brother found another branch which had escaped through Lebanon and somehow, at some time, emigrated to California. No, I haven’t made contact.
