I have assumed this to be the situation since way back in the seventies when my wife and I were the target of phone taps from more than one source and being later confronted face to face with questions that could be based only on phone conversations.
Alexa, put me on the nut-job conspiracy ping list, please.
I’m not saying anything about ‘1984’ because, after all, it’s not 1984.
It’s 2019. See? Nothing to worry about.
Everything is fine. The pilot and the co-pilot are fine, just fine. Free to pursue a life of religious fulfillment.
Turn the damned thing off. Simple.

If you own an Android phone or tablet, check your settings regularly.
There is a setting called ‘Advertisement ID’ or similar. Reset it regularly and turn it off regularly..............it gets turned back on during updates....................
This is news to you?
This has happened to me a couple of times. I complained about my shoulder, and adds for shoulder pillows popped up. I said something about a hernia, and lawsuit ads for hernia mesh popped up.
I went to a car dealership in the neighboring county and when I got home and got on the internet there were advertisements for the car dealership that I visited. Just last week I was in another town and went to a Goodwill store, the advert for the first YouTube I watched was for Goodwill. So, yes, they are listening.
Sit down with a friend with your phones between you and agree beforehand to talk about a product.
If it's true your phone is listening product placement should appear on your phone.
Sometimes it seems like things you think about come up in these ads.
Given that, why should I invest in a smart phone? Answer: I didn't. I have an Alcatel flip phone and it does everything I need.
I first noticed this in 2014 and got some week grins form people in my industry, now it’s pretty much a given that thay are always listening.
If you want actual privacy turn off the phone and put it in the freezer or microwave while you talk
LOL, I get freaked out when I go shop at Wal-Mart and a few minutes after I checkout my phone beeps with a message asking me how I enjoyed my trip to Wal-Mart.
Yes, it has provably happened to me.
It was spooky.
If they don't know that I made the purchase then they can't be that tied into my accounts.
I had 2 and gave them to family members now their listening to them ,LOL
On the NY Thruway I used my husband’s iPhone to enter “do you need...” and it filled in “a passport to enter Canada” which is exactly what we had been talking about.
Maybe that is the most common question on the Thruway north.
I carry a dumb phone myself.
We caught our Comcast remote spying on us. Verbatim phrases from our conversation appeared on the screen in custom text ads.
