I went out and planted the raised beds and got attacked by allergies also. I know I shouldn’t go out while my eyes are still fragile but I can’t help it, it is so nice out. Going to risk taking the doggie on a hike.

The irony is that exercise helps my oil glands and tear ducts work, but then allergies of course block them. What’s a girl to do?!

Paula Deen makes a yummy version of grits with heavy cream and sharp cheddar. I made it and it was too rich for my husband. Breakfast grits are also good mixed with honey, vanilla and heavy cream. Plain grits are kind of boring unless you cook them, chill in a loaf pan, then slice and fry and dress it up as you would french toast or pancakes.

My mom used to do that for me. She'd slice them the next morning, and put butter and either sugar or syrup on them. So good! Haven't had them in many years. Thanks for the memories.
