"Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek revealed in a YouTube video Wednesday that he has been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
Trebek said in the video he was given the health update this week.
"Now normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but Im going to fight this, and Im going to keep working," he said. "And with the love and support of my family and friends and with the help of your prayers also, I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease."

What’s that supposed to mean?
Alex Trebec is a blogger?
I’m sure, then, you hope he suffers miserably. Then dies and goes to Hell.
Seriously, humble. Post something substantial for once in your life.

She was extremely lucky, I dont like her but only 5 percent of all pancreatic cancers are caught early..there is no stage 2-3 pancreatic cancer, its either you find it super early or its caught late
And my dad and a close friend......
Yeah, that’s probably the worst cancer to get. Nobody survives that. It killed Patrick Swayze, Michael Landon, Bill Hicks, Steve Jobs and look at the money he had. I heard he had the most curable form of it and if he acted immediately on it, it would have saved his life, but being big headed lefty twit, he went for new age cures and ended up making it much worse.
sigh.
I hate cancer.
Sent her home to die
Wouldnt they usually send the patient to a hospice? They do here, including my mate.
I still watch Bill Hicks every now and again. He was a talented comedian. (I think many here at FR wouldn’t like him though)
You are correct about Jobs.
I have no idea. I think she chose to die at home.
A lot of people get end of life care at home.
I know I’d rather die at home than some hospital.
Steve Jobs, too.
I guess thats true. The hospice that saw my wife through was very nice, though.
Hospice is not usually a place. Hospice is palliative care. Often at home.
Wow, very sad. The prognosis for this is indeed not good.
As the TV biz goes he has been, in general, a class act.
Prayers up.
Alan Rickmanone of my favorite actorswas diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in August 2015. He was dead by mid January 2016.
Stage 4 of any kind of cancer is very bad. By definition it means that the cancer has spread to other organs.
That’s Hans Gruber and Professor Snape, right?
Yes! I liked Alan Rickman best as the hilariously evil Sheriff of Nottingham and the sweet and shy Colonel Brandon (Sense and Sensibility).
