A phrase we'd do well to remember as we consider what's happening in our nation, why and what we can do about it.
I'm personnally working my local school board to either shut the public system down or get some conservative folks in the decision making process.
“The complaint alleges that Reider used that money for both general household expenses and a variety of family trips, including Disney World, Hershey Park, Cedar Point and Kings Island.”
At least he put it to good use:)
Thieves, psychopaths, killers - they’ve been with us since the beginning. Sadly, this is nothing new.
This is what happens when you don’t audit.
We had a treasurer of our group who opposed a committee to oversee the finances. We replaced her immediately. No harm was done.
Im sorry, but we are going to have to start hanging thieves.
There are too many of them, and they arent afraid of prison.
Oh, another liberal mainstream protestant denominations: the liberal Presbyterian Church USA (pro-gay, pro-abortion)
The "I'm OK, you're OK, don't worry, be happy and blessed, but keep those checks coming in because the kids want to go to Disney World, again denomination.
A ‘church’ should not have $1.2 million dollars to steal.....................
This happens way too often. A lot of churches are hopelessly naive when it comes to custody of church funds.
I guess they didn’t learn anything from Ananias and Sapphira.
If they even read Scripture.
Wow. Add to the list of not so Christian church members - specifically, admins.
See BTK killer - Dennis RADER, pres of church council, born in PITTSBURG KS.
Interesting.
Actually, bookkeepers and financial officers embezzling from churches is not uncommon at all.
Sad to say that’s not uncommon since churches began. I believe there was a little story a long time ago about a couple of thieves Ananias & Sapphira who sort of “accidentally” kept part of the receipts from the sale of a possession that was supposed to go to the church. The results were not pleasant. (Acts 5:11)
Large wealthy churches are especially more apt to have these kind of problems. All that money is sooooo tempting. That church made a really unwise mistake. If you have one person handling all the money and not having a second pair of eyes on the records and every time a transaction takes place, you have no accountability.
