With the Galaxy S10, Samsung celebrates its 10th anniversary Galaxy S phone by going big and bold. How bold? Each of the four new Galaxy S10 models is more impressive than the last: there's the cheaper S10E ($750), the Galaxy S10 ($900), S10 Plus ($1,000) and Galaxy S10 5G, the brand's first 5G phone (price TBA, as are UK and Australian prices for the whole range).
This is Samsung seeking to whip up excitement, roar back in sales and defend its title as the world's top smartphone brand. But the Galaxy S10 phones also represent a quest for perfection.

We were talking about internet data.
You don’t get that without paying for it.
And if you put them in your pocket you can still dial someone randomly from your contact list with your butt.
“Why? Don’t like hearing differences of opinion, especially when they’re right on the mark? “
LOL! You argue that the phones have too many features that you don’t need then also say you will buy one in a few months when prices come down.
“And, believe it or not, those 10 megabytes was more than enough for “what people did back then with their computers.”
LOL! I had WordStar, Lotus 1-2-3 on one 360k floppy.
Second floppy for data.
What they did with their computers back then was learn to code. Hah!
All four of the early note series.
the Dell Streak 5 which I bought in 2010.
Which is my point.
Samsung went to skimping on basic functionality (and you don’t get any more basic than the radio portion of the phone) and focused on cosmetic fluff and bells and whistles I don’t need.
All four of the things I listed, Samsung was known for.
That distinction helped them pry market share from iPple.
Perhaps I should have been more clear. Which present phone meets your requirements, or, which phone are you now using that meets your requirements.
“Phones were made to become obsolete and useless after about 2-3 years. I’m being forced to upgrade. “
LOL! Decades old flip phones are still being used.
I have an old LG 20.
My Samsung Galaxy Note 2 lasted until this past November. Replaceable batteries allow that.
“If I can get a phone with the features which I need for $300-500, I’ll do so,”
Phones that meet your needs are given away free.
“I have an old LG 20”
I have no idea how the radio reception compares to the Galaxy but looks like LG has moved on to non-removable batteries.
“Now with TINT CONTROL!”
“Ain’t such a thing as ‘free’.”
I believe it was YOU that said you didn’t pay for internet access!
“even YOU don’t need a smartphone for most of what you do.”
LOL! I make about two calls a four texts a day on my phone.
OTOH, I use the internet several hours a day!
Getting news
Watching videos
Trading stocks
Tracking my wife
Navigation
Additionally the phone has apps for operating: garage door, thermostat, sprinkler system, home theater, lights,
” even YOU don’t need a smartphone for most of what you do. “
LOL! I take more photos on my phone than phone calls and texts combined!
I used the calculator and notes many times.
Alarm clock, timer, flashlight.
All my family photos are on my phone. Nice to have to share with friends.
My music collection is on my phone.
I listen often to Pandora; on my phone and with my phone connected to my car sound system.
I have a karaoke app that broadcasts from my phone to my home theater system.
I watch Netflix and youtube videos.
