Another clueless reporter is *shocked* that the Jussie Smollett story turned out to be a hoax:.....
If there was a "national outrage" over the dubious incident, it was limited to gullible left-wing journalists, celebrities, politicians, and activists. The "narrative" only seemed "cut-and-dry" to people who were looking at the case through lenses clouded by their anti-Trump bias. It seemed made up to those of us who noticed that Smollett's allegations were outlandish, implausible, and riddled with inconsistencies from the get-go.
Yet even as his story started falling apart (which happened almost immediately), the national media clung to their precious narrative.
There's been much commentary in the past few days about the MSM's lack of critical thinking skills in covering not only the Jussie Smollett "hate crime" fairy tale, but a number of other bogus stories as well.

I ALWAYS carry around a gallon of Bleach and a pre-tied Noose that doesn’t have 30’ of extra rope to go over the tree limb. I don’t however drag around a Horse to complete the package.
I do have a friend that does rent a Horse by the hour for such occasions. That would mean I’d have to make a reservation for Him to bring the Horse at the right time and the right place.
OH wait ! That would mean I premeditated things...
They want it to be true, and know danmed well that their non-stop coverage produces the desired effect: convincing the public. When and if they retract, they do it one time for one minute, so the public never finds out.
Funny thing about the hoaxes the MSM keeps "falling" for... They almost always follow along with or advance the current leftist/socialist agenda or talking points, they are always sensational (or are made so) in order to promote traffic on MSM news propaganda sites.
A better question is, “Why does the media participate in obvious hoaxes.” I think they continue to underestimate the ability of the new media to get the truth out, even with the increasing censorship of Hillary’s gatekeepers.
