Keep on Tweeting!
I know, I was just joking with my son, it was just humor.
This is not directed at you, but can’t we have fun anymore?
That's the way it was where I grew up. Everyone waved & everybody knew the License plate # of everybody else's cars in town.
Maol
Yep, been there.
Still behind....as I am still trying to get the RBG connection, from that tweet...
LOL!! Perfect!
Most everyone in our area waves at each other, as we pass on the road.
No one waves here in Chicagoland. Since the old folks next to me died I have only met one other of my neighbors within a block in 30 years. That neighbor was IL Rep Lipinski, he was going door to door telling us if we had one use it, Cook County or not when there were a rash of break in’s going in our neighborhood which were actually hurting the residents physically in addition to the theft. Eventually one person was killed on my block, oops turned out to be the President of the IL Chapter of the Outlaws. You should have seen the motorcycle parade with the coffin, unreal they came from everywhere for the funeral. No more break in’s after that.
PS: My street is already plowed today from the 4-5” snow drop thanks to Lipinski, so he does do some good for me. Not enough that I would vote for him though lol...
My sister lives in Fox River Grove. We grew up downstate in a very small town in Central IL That’s where peopled waved. I now live in Huntington Beach CA. Nobody waves here, or even talks to their neighbors.
Too funny. Why would you stand out in the snow? Did she actually think she would fill up a room? Don’t they have any of those pop-up covers?
As my mother would say, she doesn’t have sense enough to come in out of the rain (snow).
And yet, she wants to be President.
Hahaha - is that real? And she actually spoke of global warming?! Huh! That’s even better than Algore!
Glad your street got plowed, quickly.
I grew up in Cicero, IL. I was there the day MLK did his march on Austin Blvd. My house was 2 streets over. Me and a few friends went to see it even though we were told under no conditions leave the house. Windows were a useful thing back then for me lol...
Windows were a useful thing back then for me lol...
Forgot to add pun intended...
Yes, vid is real.
She of course had to throw in a line about climate change....
....Let me be blunt: for too long leaders in Washington have sat on the sidelines while others try to figure out what to do about our changing economy and its impact on our lives, what to do about the disruptive nature of new technologies, income inequality, the political and geographic divides, the changing climate, the tumult in our world.
For a moment, lets stop seeing those obstacles as obstacles on our path. Lets see those obstacles as our path.
This is what I mean.
There are insidious forces every day that are trying to make it harder for people to vote, trying to drown out our voices with big money.
Its time to organize. Time to galvanize. Time to take back our democracy. Its time, ...
~~~~~~~
To freeze your @zzes off, folks!!
Bwahahaha!!
I noticed after I lived here for 6 months that I hadn’t been flipped off at all in that time. Amazing. Seem to happen all the time in California.
Now San Angelo, with the feisty grandmothers driving around, would be another story :-)
New Q #2685 is up.
Took a load of high school students to Chicago. The bus driver missed the exit and insisted on getting off at the next one. BUS got really quiet as the kids observed a child eating out of trash can, rats running along the cardboard in windows etc.
Finally , little Ricky in his high unchanged voice popped up “ Miss M are there any white folks that live in Chicago? “
I wish I still had Brian’s paragraph comparing the poverty he lived in with the poverty he saw that day. They were country poor, lived off the land (hunting, fishing, gardening). He’d never been hungry and even though he had dirt floors in house mom kept them clean (linoleum) and they had real windows. And a wood stove to keep warm.
A God wink day for sure
