Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) declined a reporter's request to perform Michael Jackson's "moonwalk" dance during a press conference after he said he wore blackface in the 1980s while dressed as the performer.

"That same year [as the previous racist photo was taken], I did participate in a dance contest in San Antonio [Texas], in which I darkened my face as part of a Michael Jackson costume," Northam told reporters Saturday at a press conference.
"I look back now and I regret that I did not understand the harmful legacy of an action like that," Northam said. "It is because my memory of that episode is so vivid, that I truly do not believe I am in the picture in my yearbook."

Wayne Cochran and Roy Head were both moonwalking in the 60s while Michael Jackson was just a tyke so let’s get beyond the myth that MJ invented it or that white people can’t do it.
A white guy trying to portray black doesn’t have to be racially demeaning or insensitive. Such costume has been used in comedies and drama.
Look at Robert Downey Junior in Tropic Thunder. Look at Peter Sellers in The Party (as an East Indian). Also the movie Black Like Me. And Eddie Murphy has portrayed white people in some of his comedies.
But put that gross stereotype next to someone in a KKK outfit and it multiplies the offense. Same as dressing as a sterotypical Jew next to someone in an exagerated Nazi outfit.
I skimmed headlines yesterday and one rebuke was “it doesn’t matter if it is a Republican or Democrat that did this”. Hello? Show me a Republican that did this. It’s a Democrat thing. Ask Robert Byrd. Ask David Duke (who was Democrat and Independent before briefly running as a Republican). Ask Fred Phelps.

It was f’ing hilarious. I about fell out of my chair. At first I was like “Oh, what a sappy softball question...” Then he stepped back and started sizing up how much runway he had behind the podium.
I’ve got to beleive “Pam” broke into tears the minute they got off camera. I felt sorry for her until I remembered she’s been married to a political fraudster and baby murderer all these years so, there you go.
You need to enclose your link with “a href” then close it with simply “a”. Using the < > as the enclosure. Or..just google href.
Northam has earned all the bad things that are happening to him, but once he is gone the lt. gov will be immune to criticism because of, (again) ironically, race. I was hoping he would manage to stay on the job.
If he would have moonwalked, that would have been the greatest press conference given by a politician of all time!!! I’m sorry President Trump but you could not top that....
