I started out with nothing, and I still have most of it.

We paid $800 once for someone to remove a tree. This guy had the highest class license there was for cutting trees. And he was really good and it cost us. But the tree was close enough that it could have hit the cabin and it was also riding inside. So there was no way to know which way it would go even if you notched it away from the house and had guide ropes on it.

When this guy came up to do trees, he was the entertainment of the community. People would bring their lawn chairs and a picnic and watch him work. He was really a master at it. And then everyone would clap when the tree was down. For ours, he took it down a section at a time. So there he was, dangling 150-200 feet in the air with a chainsaw. Pretty dangerous job.

Cuomo attributed the revenue drop in December and January largely to the new federal tax code, as well as volatility in the stock market and other uncertainties.

“That’s a $2.3 billion drop in revenues. That’s as serious as a heart attack. This is worse than we had anticipated,” the governor said in Albany.

“This reduction must be addressed in this year’s budget.”

Cuomo’s preliminary analysis claims much of the impact is coming from a drop in revenues from the state’s highest income earners most impacted by the loss of write-offs of state and local tax deductions, known as SALT.

The federal law approved by President Trump and the then-GOP controlled Congress limited SALT deductions to $10,000.

The loss of revenue from New York’s wealthiest puts New York in a bind because the state relies on a progressive income tax system that taxes the rich at a higher rate.

“We have arrested 130 foreign nationals on civil immigration charges,” Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) spokesperson Carissa Cutrell was quoted as telling the Detroit Free Press on Thursday. She added that more of them could be arrested.

Those students who knowingly participated in scam knowing it was not a genuine academic programme face deportation.

Eight people who allegedly ran the scam as recruiters of the students face criminal charges of conspiracy to commit visa fraud and harbouring aliens for profit and face maximum sentences of five years, according to the ICE service.

When we had to have two mature Ash trees cut down..the guy also climbed the trees. They were very high trees. He had 4 pulleys up with him. One or two were connected to him and someone down below was in charge of working them. Two pulleys were for lowing the cut tree limbs. He had five helpers with him and they worked their tails off. When they finished our backyard was clean as a whistle.

Very interesting guy. He told me he was a hand full as a young boy and his father sent him off to military school. He said it was the kindness thing his dad ever did. He was so thankful to his dad. A big Trump supporter...LOL

I’m guessing a lot of wealthy people moved out of NY as a result of losing their SALT deductions.

The loss of the SALT deduction wouldn’t change the NY state tax revenues, unless it resulted in wealthy people moving to states with no state income taxes.
