I remember when Clinton named this area a national monument completely against the wishes of everyone in its state, Utah. When he made his announcement, he made it from the Grand Canyon in an entirely different state, overlooking the new monument. Naming national monuments or adjusting their size must be another presidential perogative that only extends to Dems.They aren't meant to be enormous. This one was the size of Delaware.

Most of this monument is desolate land, not needing to be included in a national monument designation. Inside this national monument is found one of a very few sources of the cleanest coal in the world, and a huge source of clean burning, low sulfur coal. The government in Utah said that if it could be mined, it could pay for all of its public education expenses. One of Clinton's biggest Asian backers, Riady, had interests in one of the other two locations of this very clean coal, Indonesia. The Clintons were so corrupt.
