Okay, enough sliding. Let’s take a look at House Resolution 1 (HR1). The very first Bill the new dem Congress has introduced.
It’s called the “For The People Act of 2019”.
It has 227 (!) co-sponsors and has been referred out to the committees. It purports to, “To expand Americans’ access to the ballot box, reduce the influence of big money in politics, and strengthen ethics rules for public servants, and for other purposes.”
Yeah, right. Think mirror. Everything these scummy liberals say means the opposite.
It is FIVE HUNDRED and SEVENTY pages long!!
It starts right out of the gate mandating the States to provide online voter registration. No ID required, but one must ‘attest’ the information is accurate. I read this as eliminating any ID requirements that any State might have.
Mandates automatic Motor Voter registration for all States. Oh, and it’s for 16 years-old and up.
Same day registration/voting.
Voting rights for felons unless they are incarcerated on election day.
Two weeks of early voting in all states. Vote by mail in all states.
Election day becomes a Federal Holiday.
Let’s skip ahead a bit...let’s see...
Oh, a whole bunch of anti-Trump things like divestiture requirements, a WH ethics office that ends in 2023 (at the end of DJT’s presumed second term), and his tax returns.
Forget this. Just know that this is a dem party overreach to secure elections for themselves. It won’t go anywhere in the Senate.
Last observation?
Instances of “democracy” (20) or “democratic” (33)= 53
Instances of “republic” (1), “constitution” (22) or “constitutional” (13) = 36
Long history.
