Good morning!

It’s a gorgeous snowy day here!

I think I’ve turned the corner! This recovery is agonizingly slow, but sometimes I think God allows us to suffer a setback in order to get our full attention. Thanks to everyone who’s sent a prayer my way.

This illness has been a serious and life-altering experience. Taking a hard look at one’s inevitable mortality can be a good thing. I’ve re-evaluated my life and am prayerfully making readjustments.

God is good.

Well, it looks like the news has been slow so I haven’t missed much...

Jobless Claims Hit Lowest Level in 49 Years

The U.S. jobs market is sizzling.
The number of people seeking jobless benefits dropped last week to the lowest level since November 1969, a sign the job market remains strong despite the partial government shutdown, now in its fifth week.

The last time claims were this low the labor market was half the size it is now.

The Labor Department said Thursday that weekly applications for unemployment aid declined 13,000 to a seasonally adjusted 199,000. The four-week average, a less volatile figure, dropped 5,500 to 215,000.

Economists had expected jobless claims to rise from 212,000 to 218,000. A week ago, there were 212,000 applications for unemployment benefits, revised down from 213,000.

LOL! Perhaps God gave you this illness so you wouldn't have to deal with all this anxiety. You have been comfortably sleeping while the rest of us have been biting our nails down the quick.

Just kidding, I like your perspective that He gives us trials to get our attention. I think that is definitely the case. And I must be needing to really pay attention these days! I guess some of us learn slower than others. That would be me. :-(

I think it’s great that Sarah Sanders isn’t putting up with their obnoxious behavior anymore.

I think you’re right, trumpet is dealing with them masterfully. He communicates with them, but on his terms. And it’s funny how they have shut down, because for once they have to deal with someone that is in control and will not capitulate.

They are not used to dealing with the Republican on these terms. They are used to being the abuser and the Republican being the typical cowering victim. No longer!

While, that is great that so many people are reading Orwell’s books. I checked our local library and it has quite a few still available. This area isn’t particularly literate. I checked one out, just in case I can’t find my hardcopies. But I know when we moved my books from one room to the other, since we are in the middle of remodeling, I put those at the top of the pile in 1 of the boxes.
