" It Is the first time I ever wished I lived in Oregon :-) the gas stations there are mandated to have attendance."

Not any longer. It was last year or a couple years ago they changed that. I am not sure if it is for ALL stations though.

I think we might have planted eucalyptus trees. When we lived in Ridgecrest, in the high desert. Very few things would survive there between the hundred twenty degrees Summers and the below freezing Winters. I planted something by the front gate that was Evergreen and I remember I didn’t like the aroma but it was Far Enough from the house it didn’t matter.

We plan to things all over that property. I kind of hate the idea of looking back at it and seeing if people took stuff out, we work so hard at it. I thought you were sad to see your eucalyptus trees gone.

Goodbye in advance? Clint Eastwood wrote that? Well, I guess he can get away with it since he is about her age.

I didn’t know they changed it. I remember driving through Oregon on my way back from a relocation trip. I jumped out of the car to pump gas and these two attendants come barreling out the building to intercept me. It was kind of funny.

“You can also choose for them to replace with a different brand if they don’t have that at no extra cost or at the cheaper cost.”

Wow, that’s a pretty neat perk. I don’t think they let you do that in the store! It wouldn’t take long to get to $30. I’ll have to consider that next time.

Is that because of a feud?

Yes, and no. Most people don't talk to their neighbors. Sometimes saying hi, when outside at the same time - as you say.

In this particular case, we moved into a new subdivision, and these neighbors had moved in about a month before our house was finished. My wife was pregnant with our first kid, and when they saw her, the neighbor wife (who is our age or younger, so it's not like they were old) said "Oh, I suppose you will put that kid next to our bedroom & it will cry all night." So that wasn't the best start. Our kids never played with their kids.

Then we had to get our new landscape plans approved by our neighbors. Everybody just said "Yes, whatever, we don't care", But these people refused saying that a tree we were planting might grow up to shade their yard. Never spoke to them again.

But regardless, I don't know any of our neighbors except for 2 of the houses across the street. Never been to their homes or hang out with them. It's the case with most the most people here. I lived in an apartment for 6 years & never spoke to my neighbors living right next door.

I loved the empty chair thing. That was pretty ballsy of him.

And the “empty chair” trend really caught on.

Remember seeing a lone chair in many peeps front yards after Clint said that.

Yes it did! Even in Bakersfield are so empty chairs all over. I think it was an easy way for people to show their conviction, without going out on too much of a limb. At least in Mexifornia, where people would key your car or break your windows just because you disagreed with them.

They sound of noxious. I just don’t understand people being that self centered people.

Our neighbors in Bakersfield was so incredibly rude. They would let their dogs bark all night long, play their radios full blast when they were sitting out by their pools. My neighbor right next to us didn’t even care that another neighbor was a nurse and trying to sleep nights. She had asked him to hold it down and he said he had a right to do whatever he wanted with his yard.

Between that and the Liberals that took over the area where our cabin was, we were just done. So we found a place to live where we thought we would like it and just moved, no jobs, knowing nobody, just wanting to get away from liberals and illegals and rude people.

What did they do with all that extra money every year?

It's not like they spent it on useless gee-gaws.

They have it sitting safely in offshore numbered bank accounts.

When I used to drive to goat rock beach, a part of the road I traveled on was lined with eucalyptus trees. I’d always roll down the window and take in the smell. :-)
